Kia Carens To Get A Facelift And Follow A Strategy Similar To Tata Nexon

Kia Carens to get a facelift and follow a strategy similar to Tata Nexon.

Kia will give the Carens a major update, the first since its 2022 debut. However, with many significant changes to the design and interior, it will not receive a generational update and will instead be sold alongside the current model.

The Carens will receive a significant update from Kia for the first time since its launch in 2022. It won't get a generational update, though, and will instead be offered for sale alongside the existing model despite major interior and cosmetic modifications.

This strategy is not new, as evidenced by recent models such as the facelifted Tata Nexon and Maruti Baleno, which both underwent significant design changes but are not new-generation vehicles.

Design Updates in Kia Carens

The impending Carens facelift will have a new exterior with sleek LED DRLs, revised headlights, redesigned alloy wheels, and modified front and back bumpers, according to previous spy photos. Although the 2025 Carens will look entirely different from the current model thanks to these upgrades, it won't be considered a new MPV generation.

Tata adopted a similar strategy in 2023 with the Nexon facelift, which included a contemporary look with connected LED tail lights, sharper alloy wheels, and split headlights. Similarly, the 2022 Maruti Baleno upgrade did not qualify as a new-generation model despite introducing design revisions that gave it a more aggressive appearance.

Interior Updates in Kia Carens

The interior updates will likely include a redesigned center console and dashboard, housing a larger infotainment system and more features. Other changes are expected to include a refreshed interior color scheme and a redesigned steering wheel.

A larger infotainment system and more amenities will probably be housed in the revised center console and dashboard as part of the interior upgrades. A new interior color scheme and a revamped steering wheel are anticipated additions.

Added Features in Kia Carens

Six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and an electronic parking brake are also anticipated to remain standard on the 2025 Carens. Additionally, with potential chassis reinforcements, the Carens makeover may also receive a higher safety rating.

Engine Options in 2025 Kia Carens

The engine options offered to the car enthusiast include:

Engine1.5 Litre Petrol1.5 Litre turbo-petrol1.5 Litre diesel
Power/Torque115 PS/144 NM160 PS /253 NM116 PS / 250 NM
Transmission6 Speed MT6 Speed MT, 7 Speed DCT6 Speed MT, 6 Speed AMT

Probable Pricing of 2025 Kia Carens

It is anticipated that the 2025 Kia Carens facelift will start at Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). As previously stated, it will be available in addition to the present Carens, which has an ex-showroom price range of Rs 10.60 lakh to Rs 19.70 lakh.

By August 2025, Kia is anticipated to introduce the Carens facelift. As a cost-effective substitute for the Toyota Innova Crysta, Toyota Innova Hycross, and Maruti Invicto, it will compete with vehicles such as the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6, and Toyota Rumion.
