The iconic Tata Sierra is returning not just as an internal combustion engine (ICE) but as an all-electric too.
Here is the list, gazing forward at their arrival. These are contrasts, by the way.
Design Exteriors
Front
The Sierra EV is clean and stylish with no front grille, but the ICE retains functional vents that can be found in the rest of the face to cool down the engine.
However, it still uses a textured grille. Both models share the same full-width LED DRLs added to both versions, but only Sierra EV's bumper design would've been updated, this time a bit more aero-efficient than before.
Rooflines are another point of difference between these models. Sierra EV has a roofline sloping enough to appear like an SUV, while the ICE core has an almost straight roofline typical crossover SUV. In addition, the Sierra EV has a very flush push-button door handle and another one by its side for rear access, emphasizing a modern design.
Both are mounted with T-shaped LED taillight strips rear-wise, and both would look less pronounced given fewer upright light elements, showing a relatively straightforward production stage. The rugged appearance of the Sierra was complemented by a black-out bumper and an integrated silver skid plate.
Interior and Features
In the absence of Tata's claim about the final interiors of the two variants, teasers unveiled before their last launch suggest some differences are mentioned below:
The Sierra EV, as seen in its previous chapter, has two screens as part of its infotainment configuration and instrumentation, whereas the ICE version is tipped to have a tri-screen setup.
However, there are some similarities as well, which are:
Both models will have modern facilities such as smartphone connectivity, ventilated seats, and a complete armored setup with ADAS systems.
Both models will be featuring mixed accents on interiors to point out the kind of powertrain they are run on. However, it is expected that both of them feature high-grade materials and finishes.
Powertrain Specification
However, the most crucial distinction of both of the models will be in their powertrains:
Sierra ICE
A 2.0-liter diesel motor is similar to what Tata offers with the Harrier or Safari.
An all-new 1.5-liter Turbo-Petrol is expected to do the needful in the contemporary performance paradigm.
Sierra Electric Vehicle
No details are available on the electric motor. But it is promised that it will have to boast of a pretty high-capacity pack, resulting in highly likely travel distances higher than 500 kilometers.
Conclusion
The return of the Tata Sierra will open a very exciting chapter to the Tata SUV collection for the customers, where the offer for the old-fashioned ICE powertrain, as well as future-relevant electric versions, would be mutually emitted among any difference in design and layout of powertrain elements among both models' formally assumed similar silhouettes. Scarlet Starlets are waiting to be made exciting through the lovable launches later this year, when Tata is expected to offer two such unique vehicles- a reinterpretation of a classic.
