- JSW MG Motor India reported 6,048 units in domestic wholesales for May 2026, reflecting a 4.06 per cent year-on-year decline against May 2025.
- Dealership dispatches of the flagship Majestor SUV commenced during the month, with customer deliveries expected to gather pace in the months ahead.
JSW MG Motor India reported domestic wholesales of 6,048 units in May 2026, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 4.06 per cent when compared to the 6,304 units dispatched in May 2025.
While the annual comparison paints a softer picture, the broader context tells a more measured story. The decline amounts to just 256 units and comes against the backdrop of persistent headwinds facing the automotive sector, including rising commodity costs, higher freight expenses and disruptions to global supply chains stemming from ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
On a month-on-month basis, the brand actually moved in the right direction. Sales climbed from 6,018 units in April 2026 to 6,048 units in May 2026, a gain of 30 units representing 0.50 per cent growth. It is a marginal improvement, but one that signals relative stability in a market environment that has tested many manufacturers this year.

A Portfolio Built on ICE and Electric Ground
MG's volumes continue to draw from a diverse product mix spanning both conventional and electric powertrains. The ICE SUV lineup comprises the Astor, Hector and Gloster, while the electric portfolio is anchored by the Comet EV, ZS EV and Windsor EV.
Of these, the Windsor EV has steadily grown into one of the strongest contributors to the brand's overall EV tally and consistently features among the highest-selling electric passenger vehicles in the country.
Majestor Marks MG's Push Into Premium Territory
The Flagship Has Arrived at Dealerships
A significant milestone for the brand during May 2026 was the commencement of dealership dispatches for the MG Majestor. Positioned as the brand's flagship SUV in India, the Majestor is offered in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations to cater to a wider cross-section of buyers within the premium space.
Pricing starts at Rs 40.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 4x2 Automatic Top Trim and extends to Rs 44.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 4x4 Automatic Top Trim. The SUV is squarely targeted at buyers seeking a full-size premium offering with an emphasis on space, ride comfort and long-distance touring capability.
With customer deliveries expected to gain momentum in the coming months, the Majestor has a genuine opportunity to lift MG's overall volume figures and deepen its footprint in the premium SUV segment.
More Launches on the Horizon for JSW MG
Looking further ahead, JSW MG Motor India is preparing a more expansive product offensive with a focus on electrified mobility. The company is expected to bring in the IM6, a premium electric SUV, followed by a plug-in hybrid SUV derived from the Starlight 560 platform.
As competition intensifies across both the EV and premium SUV segments, these forthcoming additions will be critical in determining MG's trajectory through the remainder of the year and into 2027.
