The BMW M2 CS makes its India debut as the most track-focused variant of the M2, boasting 530hp, a Nürburgring lap time of 7 minutes 25.5 seconds, and significant carbon fibre upgrades over the standard car.
Priced at Rs 1.66 crore (ex-showroom) before options and sold as a fully imported unit in strictly limited numbers, the M2 CS is one of the most exclusive compact performance cars currently on sale in India.
BMW India launched the M2 CS on March 18, 2026 at Rs 1.66 crore (ex-showroom), before options. This is the first time the CS-badged variant of the M2 has arrived in the country, making it only the second CS-badged BMW model to be introduced in India.
The car comes in as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) and will be available in limited numbers. The standard M2 retails at Rs 1.02 crore, which means buyers will pay Rs 64 lakh more for the CS treatment.
An Engine That Punches Well Above Its Class
530hp and Performance Figures That Match the M4 Competition
Under the bonnet sits a reworked version of the 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine from the regular M2. Revised internals and stiffer engine mounts push outputs to 530hp and 650Nm of torque, which is 50hp and 50Nm more than the standard car.
Notably, these figures are identical to those of the larger M4 Competition. The sprint from 0 to 100 kph takes a claimed 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 302 kph. Power goes exclusively to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There is no manual gearbox option, unlike the standard M2.
Chassis and Weight Reductions That Make the Car Faster and Sharper
30 Kilograms Lighter, 8mm Lower, and Built for the Track
The M2 CS tips the scales at 1,710kg, roughly 30 kilograms lighter than the standard car. Those savings come from a carbon fibre roof, boot lid, mirror caps, and cabin trim. The car also sits 8mm lower than its sibling, and the suspension has been specifically retuned with revised springs, dampers, and chassis control systems.
Advanced driver aids include 10-stage M Traction Control, M Drift Analyser, a lap timer, and a dedicated Track mode. M Compound brakes are standard, with M Carbon ceramic brakes offered as an optional upgrade.
Exterior Styling and Interior Appointments That Reflect the Car's Purpose
Ducktail Spoiler, Gold Alloys, and a Cabin Full of Carbon Fibre
Visually, the M2 CS differs from the standard car in a number of meaningful ways. A reworked kidney grille with larger air intakes improves engine breathing, while a new front splitter and an integrated ducktail rear spoiler together improve aerodynamic stability.
The rear diffuser is more pronounced, and the quad exhaust tips are finished in matte black. Staggered forged alloy wheels finished in Gold Bronze (19-inch at the front, 20-inch at the rear) complete the look, shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres as standard.
Track-spec rubber is available as a no-cost option. Buyers may choose from four exterior colours, namely Black Sapphire, Portimao Blue, Brooklyn Grey, and Velvet Blue.
The cabin is equally purposeful. Carbon fibre bucket seats wrapped in leather with M-colour detailing dominate the interior, alongside an Alcantara M steering wheel and carbon fibre trim across the dashboard, door pads, and centre console.
Black Merino leather upholstery is standard. Creature comforts remain intact, with a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a parking assistant, BMW Operating System 8.5, and a Head-Up Display all part of the package.
A Nürburgring Record That Cements Its Place Among the Greats
The M2 CS has already put its credentials in writing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, completing the 20.8km circuit in 7 minutes 25.5 seconds, making it the fastest production compact car around the famous German track. With limited units allocated for India and no manual gearbox on offer, this is a car built for a very specific kind of enthusiast.
