The official India launch price, booking process, and delivery timeline for the Audi SQ8
The SUV's performance credentials, exterior design, and interior feature set
Audi India has launched the SQ8 performance SUV at an introductory price of Rs 1.77 crore, ex-showroom. The model arrives as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU), meaning it is imported in fully assembled form rather than assembled locally.
Bookings are already open, and prospective buyers must place a token amount of Rs 5 lakh. The booking process can be completed either through the official Audi India website or via the myAudi Connect mobile app. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in April 2026.
Sitting between the standard Q8 and the more aggressive RS Q8 in Audi's SUV lineup, the SQ8 is designed to offer a middle ground where daily comfort and sharp performance go hand in hand.
A 4.0-Litre V8 That Means Business on Indian Roads
Under the bonnet, the SQ8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 TFSI petrol engine that produces approximately 500 hp and 770 Nm of torque. The SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
Power is sent to all four wheels through Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system, which features a self-locking centre differential for confident grip across varying road conditions.
Suspension and Handling Technology for the Performance-Inclined Buyer
The SQ8 rides on adaptive air suspension with continuous damping control and also features all-wheel steering. This feature improves manoeuvrability at low speeds while enhancing stability at higher speeds.
An S-specific sport exhaust system adds an unmistakable acoustic character. Buyers can further specify an advanced suspension package with active roll stabilisation and a sport differential as optional upgrades.
Bold Exterior Styling That Sets It Apart from the Standard Q8
The SQ8 wears S-specific exterior treatment, highlighted by Audi's signature singleframe grille with aluminium-look detailing. HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light are standard, while the rear features connected LED tail lamps, a full-width light bar, and four exhaust outlets.
Standard alloy wheels are fitted as default, though buyers may opt for 22-inch wheels in various designs. Carbon Style and Black Styling packs are optional add-ons.
Eight exterior colour choices are available: Mythos Black, Daytona Grey, Glacier White, Ascari Blue, Chilli Red, Sakhir Gold, Satellite Silver, and Waitomo Blue.
A Cabin Built Around Technology and Long-Distance Comfort
Inside, the SQ8 gets sport seats finished in Dinamica microfibre and leather with S embossing as standard. The Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus and MMI Navigation Plus with touch response form the core of the cabin's technology offering.
A Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System with 17 speakers and 730 watts of power delivers the audio experience. Four-zone climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and a powered tailgate round out the comfort features. Optional upgrades include Valcona leather seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions.
Safety provisions include eight airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, Audi Pre Sense Basic and a 360-degree camera with parking assist.
Given the limited availability of CBU imports, anyone seriously considering the SQ8 would be wise to book sooner rather than later.
