Tata Sierra Bharat NCAP Safety Rating – 5 Star Crash Result

The Tata Sierra has secured a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test, highlighting its strong build quality and advanced safety technology. With a reinforced body structure, multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and ADAS features in higher variants, the SUV stands out as one of the safest models in the mid-size SUV segment.

  • The Tata Sierra has achieved a prestigious 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP, scoring 31.14/32 points for adult protection and 44.73/49 points for child safety.

  • This top-tier safety certification is applicable across all variants, ensuring every buyer receives the same high level of structural integrity and crash protection.

The latest crash test results of the Tata Sierra under the Bharat NCAP have been revealed and the SUV has secured a 5-star safety rating, reinforcing Tata Motors’ strong reputation for building some of the safest cars in India.

The Bharat NCAP rating system evaluates vehicles based on frontal impact, side impact, and safety assist technologies to help buyers understand how safe a car is in real-world situations

Breaking Down the Score of 5-Star Safety

According to the latest crash test results, the Tata Sierra achieved high scores in both major categories tested by Bharat NCAP.

  1. Strong protection for driver and front passenger in frontal crash test, contributing to 31.14/32 points in adult occupant protection.

  2. Side impact performance remained strong with a high score in the movable deformable barrier test.

  3. High score for child occupant protection with proper child seat installation support, achieving 44.73/49 points in child occupant protection.

  4. Stable body shell with minimal intrusion into the passenger cabin.

Body Structure and Modern Engineering

One of the main reasons behind the high rating is the Sierra’s reinforced chassis and high-strength steel construction. Modern SUVs designed with stronger passenger cells and crumple zones usually perform better in crash tests because they distribute impact forces away from occupants.

The Sierra uses advanced structural engineering along with multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and child safety anchors, all of which contribute to better crash test performance.

Safety Features of Tata Sierra

The tested model comes with several active and passive safety features that are now required for top safety ratings.

Key safety features include:

  • 6 airbags

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

  • Seat-belt reminder for all passengers

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

  • Electronic parking brake with Auto-Hold.

Higher variants offer Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The SUV also gets a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot monitor, making it easier to see around the vehicle while parking or driving in traffic.

What This Means for Buyers

The Sierra’s crash test result makes it one of the safest upcoming SUVs in its segment. Priced between ₹11.49 lakh and goes all the way to ₹21.29 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tata Sierra is expected to be a competitive option in the mid-size SUV segment.

For buyers looking for a family car with strong build quality and modern safety features, the 5-star rating adds confidence that the vehicle can handle severe crash situations better than many rivals.

With safety becoming a key buying factor in India, results like these are likely to increase interest in the Tata Sierra in the market.
