2024 Maruti Dzire Zxi Mt Vs Maruti Swift Zxi Plus Mt Which One Wins

2024 Maruti Dzire ZXi MT vs Maruti Swift ZXi Plus MT: Which One Wins?

Choosing between two well-loved Maruti models: the 2024 Dzire ZXi MT and Swift ZXi Plus MT can be a tricky task. Both cars are built to impress with their features, performance, and value. While they share several similarities, a closer look reveals key differences that could sway your decision.

Let’s dive in to see how these two variants stack up against each other.

The Price Battle

Price is often the first consideration for any car buyer. The Dzire ZXi MT comes with a price tag of ₹8.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Swift ZXi Plus MT is slightly pricier at ₹8.99 lakh. The ₹10,000 difference may not seem much, but it’s worth evaluating whether the Swift's extra features justify the additional cost.

Size and Space: A Clear Winner

When it comes to dimensions, the Dzire takes the lead. Being a sedan, it measures 3,995 mm in length, which is 133 mm longer than the Swift's 3,860 mm.

This added length not only gives the Dzire a more spacious cabin feel but also translates to a significantly larger boot space—382 liters compared to the Swift’s 265 liters.

If you’re someone who frequently travels with luggage or groceries, the Dzire’s advantage is hard to overlook.

Both cars share the same width (1,735 mm) and wheelbase (2,450 mm), making them equally adept at navigating narrow city streets. However, the Dzire is slightly taller by 5 mm, offering a tad more headroom.

Engine and Performance: Twins Under the Hood

Under the hood, both the Dzire and Swift house the same 1.2-liter Z-series 3-cylinder petrol engine. Producing 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque, this engine promises a smooth and responsive drive in both models.

For eco-conscious buyers, both variants offer an optional CNG powertrain. Though slightly less powerful at 70 PS and 102 Nm, the CNG versions are ideal for city commutes and those looking to save on fuel costs.

Features Galore: Where They Differ

Both cars are generously equipped, but their differences lie in the details.

The Dzire ZXi boasts a dual-tone black-and-beige cabin that exudes a sense of elegance. Meanwhile, the Swift ZXi Plus opts for an all-black interior, lending it a sportier vibe.

In terms of tech, the Dzire comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the Swift ups the game with a larger 9-inch touchscreen and a 6-speaker Arkamys-tuned sound system. For long drives, the Swift also includes cruise control, a feature absent in the Dzire.

Both cars are equally matched in comfort features, including wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and keyless entry. However, if having a bigger screen and cruise control are must-haves, the Swift may edge out the Dzire.

Safety First: A Tie Game

Safety is a priority in both cars, with features like six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking cameras, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages coming as standard. Both models also include ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring systems, and seatbelt reminders for all passengers.

Which One is for You?

The Dzire ZXi MT is an excellent choice of practicality and value for money are your priorities. It matches the Swift in most features, costs ₹10,000 less, and offers significantly more boot space. This makes it ideal for families or those needing extra storage.

On the other hand, the Swift ZXi Plus MT is perfect for those who value premium touches like a larger touchscreen, better sound system, and cruise control. Its sporty design and all-black interior will also appeal to younger drivers or those looking for a stylish ride.

In conclusion, both the Dzire ZXi MT and Swift ZXi Plus MT cater to slightly different audiences, but neither disappoints. The Dzire leans towards practicality and affordability, while the Swift focuses on style and tech-savvy features.

To make the best decision, consider your priorities: whether it's a bigger boot, a premium infotainment experience, or simply the better value. A test drive of both models will help you feel the subtle differences and choose the car that fits your lifestyle best.
