Hyundai has shown the first image of the upcoming 2023 Verna model. With major revisions to appearance and interior characteristics, the most recent design has undergone a significant makeover from the previous generation.
In an effort to differentiate itself from the previous generation, the popular mid-size sedan's most recent incarnation has taken various takes inspiration from the Tucson and i20. The new Verna shares the Tucson SUV's striking and distinctive front grille. It has a contemporary, edgy look because of the small headlamps that border the grille. The front bumper has also been modified with a sportier and more aggressive design to enhance the car's sporty appeal.
The Hyundai Verna's design for 2023 includes a few unusual and distinguishing aspects. The fog lamps are integrated into vertical extensions that extend from the front bumper's pointed design. A large two-dimensional Hyundai logo that resembles the one on the Grand i10 Nios facelift is prominently displayed on top of the hood. Character lines on the side of the car, evoking the Tucson SUV, smoothly meld with the flared wheel arches. Similarities between the silver garnish on the window line and Tucson's C-pillar garnish can be seen.
Although the actual model's alloy wheels appear to suit the wheel wells well, the original design sketches had huge wheels. The Verna has distinctive tail lights with a full-width light bar, vertical extensions, and crystal-like decoration on the back. The reversing lamps are divided into three horizontal lines and are housed in separate modules at each end. Tucson's design is also reflected in the rear bumper's diamond-shaped motifs and the faux skid plate.
Adding a 1.5-litre direct injection turbo-petrol engine with 160 horsepower will significantly expand the powertrain lineup for the forthcoming Verna. This engine will offer a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre, 115-horsepower petrol engine from the current Verna will also be available, mated to either a CVT or a 6-speed manual transmission. The RDE and E20 criteria will be met by both engines, enabling a 20% ethanol blend.
The 2023 Verna is scheduled to be on sale in India soon, where it will face off against other mid-size cars like the Skoda Rapid, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Although Verna's price has not yet been disclosed, it will likely be in the Rs. 10 lakh range.
In conclusion, the new 2023 Hyundai Verna is a substantial improvement over its cutting-edge features, contemporary and edgy design, and variety of engine choices. The automaker used design features from its current vehicles to distinguish the new Verna in the mid-size sedan market. The vehicle is predicted to be a popular selection for Indian car purchasers who are constantly looking for feature-rich vehicles with modern looks and features.
