The 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift is being tested close to Manali, according to a new collection of spy photographs that highlight the vehicle's expected appearance and feature improvements.
A new lighting design, upgraded alloy wheels, a potential under-floor CNG tank, and the addition of cutting-edge features like Level 2 ADAS for increased safety are among the main anticipated modifications.
Recent spy photos of the 2026 Maruti Brezza makeover were taken while it was being tested beside a Maruti Jimny on a hilly highway close to Manali. Although the prototype is tightly hidden in the photos, some new stylistic cues are readily apparent. With new internal lighting signatures that imply sharper LED DRLs and a more upscale rear-light treatment, the updated Brezza seems to have reworked headlamps and taillamps.
The alloy wheels appear to have been altered as well, with a black-finished swirl-style design that is obviously different from earlier test mules. With its square wheel arches, robust shoulder lines, roof rails, and compact stance, the overall appearance is still recognizable.
Nonetheless, minor adjustments to the body cladding and bumpers suggest an attempt to give the upgraded Brezza a somewhat updated appearance rather than a drastic overhaul.
CNG, Engine, Safety, and What's Probably Under the Skin
The same 1.5-liter K15C gasoline engine, which produces about 103.1 PS and 139 Nm, is anticipated to power the next Brezza. It will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is also thought that a CNG version that produces roughly 87.8 PS and 121.5 Nm is being developed. It's interesting to note that there are rumors that the redesigned CNG version would use an under-floor CNG tank arrangement, which would improve usability and conserve boot space. This design would be inspired by the recently released Maruti Victoris.
The facelift appears to be positioned to provide major feature changes beyond the powertrain. Speculation suggests a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an upgraded instrument cluster, ventilated seats, elegant upholstery, and perhaps a sharper audio setup, even though the interior hasn't yet been shot.
Most significantly, the 2026 Brezza may get Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which would bring contemporary safety and driver-assistance technologies that many of its competitors currently provide.
Why This Facelift Is Important
The redesign coincides with intense competition in India's sub-4-meter compact SUV market, where competitors are constantly improving. The cosmetic modifications to the Brezza are intended to modernize its appearance, while the prospective CNG arrangement and safety upgrades are intended to enhance overall value and usability. These changes seem more than superficial. This redesigned Brezza can be a good option for consumers looking for a small SUV that combines value, practicality, and cutting-edge technologies.
When to Expect It
Industry observers anticipate the 2026 Brezza facelift to appear sometime next year, with several prototypes seen throughout the nation and testing in progress. In India's fiercely competitive sub-4-meter SUV market, it will probably face off against competitors like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3XO, and Skoda Kylaq if it is introduced.
