The 2025 update for the Honda City has been unveiled, showcasing several significant changes tailored for the Brazilian market. One of the most notable updates is the introduction of a new grille and redesigned front and rear bumpers. While the India-spec City already features the updated bumpers, the new grille is expected to be included in the Indian version as well.
Inside, the Honda City will sport a modern white-over-black interior, reminiscent of the design seen in the India-spec City e
. A standout addition is the dual-zone climate control system, which is likely to become a key selling point for the updated model in India. The interior layout has also been modified, relocating the wireless charging pad to a position behind the gear lever for added convenience.
The Brazilian version of the Honda City is equipped with features already available in the Indian market, such as the Honda Connect suite, Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and full LED headlamps in the top-spec variant.
Under the hood, the Brazilian model will be powered by Honda’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque, with options for either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. In India, the City also offers a hybrid powertrain, with the e
version delivering 100bhp and 127Nm of torque, enhanced by an electric motor for improved efficiency, particularly in heavy traffic.
As the sedan market continues to contract in favor of SUVs, Honda recognizes the need to maximize sales from the City, its most iconic and longest-serving model. While the updates may seem minor, they are expected to positively impact the City’s sales figures across both standard and hybrid variants. Furthermore, the introduction of dual-zone climate control is anticipated to extend to the Elevate model following the launch of the updated City.
