Check Honda City Price, Interior, and Exterior

The New Honda City is a stylish and reliable sedan that promises an enjoyable driving experience. With its sleek design and modern features, it catches attention on the road. Inside, the cabin offers a comfortable and well-appointed space with all the latest amenities and technology. The City is equipped with a fuel-efficient engine and smooth handling, making it perfect for both city commuting and long trips. If you seek a practical and refined sedan, the New Honda City is the ideal choice.

The new Honda City is mainly targeted towards urban professionals and families who look for a comfortable car for their daily commute as well as weekend getaways. The Honda City has a track record of good performance and longevity, making it a dependable choice for buyers. The addition of class-leading features and massively improved engines help it stand out in the crowd.
The 5th generation Honda City is the latest iteration and it debuted at the 2020 Auto Show in the month of July.
- The new Honda City featured a thoroughly re-engineered design - both cosmetic and engineering. The chassis is 20% more rigid and the roof is stiffer, giving it better handling. The chassis is lighter than the older one too, and there are added elements like the firewall which is 200% thicker and adds stiffness and insulation.
- It also brings with it segment-first features such as the ADAS, LaneWatch camera, and Alexa voice assistant integration.
- The new Honda City also received a mild facelift this month. The changes are mostly cosmetic on the outside but come with an additional entry-level variant - the SV which features a manual gearbox. There is also an entry-level V trim available with the petrol-hybrid model along with the top-spec ZX.
Honda reported that the older 4th generation Honda City will continue to remain on sale till April 2023.
The price of the new Honda City Petrol starts from ?11.5 lakhs for the entry-level SV variant and goes all the way to ?15.97 lakhs for the top-spec ZX with 7-speed CVT gearbox.
There is also a Petrol Hybrid e:HEV model which is priced at ?18.9 lakhs for the manual variant and ?20.4 lakhs for the CVT variant.
  • The Honda City's front is dominated by its signature chrome bar, which is now thicker than the old model and stretches across and above the LED headlights. The LED headlights are sharper and are designed brilliantly.
  • The sides of the City feature a smooth and uninterrupted surface, with a subtle character line running through the doors that add to the car's elegance. The chrome door handles are great to hold and lend a premium feel.
  • From the side, you can easily feel the City's enormous length. It is the longest of all mid-size sedans in its class but the wheelbase is the same as the older model. The smart 16-inch diamond-cut alloys look smart but a little small under the oversized wheel arches.
  • The rear of the Honda City features a sleek and tapered design and is characterised by striking 3D tail lights and blacked-out elements.
  • The Honda City's cabin is neatly designed and feels premium with its black and light brown interior. The dashboard features a sleek and modern design, with an 8-0 inch large touchscreen infotainment system that is easy to use and provides a range of connectivity options. The system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and features a host of apps.
  • The front seats are very well-bolstered and offer good lumbar support. The rear seats are again the star of the show, easily the best-in-class. The legroom is generous and the seats are reclined at a perfect angle. All three passengers at the rear get 3-point seatbelts and head restraints. However, tall passengers might find the rear seats a bit short on headroom.
  • The new City also features wireless charging for your phones, USB and 12V charging sockets, and a sunroof.
  • The new City also comes with Honda's connectivity tech which works well with Alexa voice assistant. You can ask Alexa from your home to pre-cool the cabin or check for details like fuel level and cabin temperature.
  • The 5th gen Honda City scored 4/5 stars in the Global NCAP rating - on par with other mid-size sedans. The City is built on a monocoque chassis with built-in crumple zones that absorbs most of the impact in the event of a crash, thus keeping the occupants safe.
  • It also features 6 airbags, ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and Brake Assist, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Traction control. There is also a segment-first LaneWatch camera which alerts the driver on traffic in blind spots when changing lanes.
  • Honda has also added a new feature to the ADAS tech in the City Hybrid called the "Low-Speed Follow" function. It enables the driver to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. It also gets a "Lead Car Departure Notification System" that alerts the driver when the car in front starts moving.
The Honda City's brand new Dual Overhead Camshaft 1.5-litre petrol engine is a real delight to drive. Being naturally aspirated you won't feel any turbo lag and the performance is linear, and it revs well all the way to the 7,000 rpm redline.
The engine is well refined but can get vocal at high rpms. The City hits the 0-100kph mark in 10.2 secs, which is only 1 sec slower than the Skoda Rapid. It has a top speed of 208 kph.
The CVT version also performs well in this regard hitting the 0-100kph mark in 12.05 secs and is great to drive. You'll feel the rubberband effect which is common on all CVT gearboxes but in-gear acceleration is better than the manual gearbox.
The City's suspension is soft but absorbs potholes with ease. It is also flat and well-composed at higher speeds. You'll feel very confident driving the City on the highways at high speeds. There is great steering feedback and minimal body roll making the City easy to drive.
For the petrol-manual, Honda claims an overall fuel efficiency figure of 17.8 kpl and 18.4 kpl for the petrol-automatic. The City Hybrid has a high claimed overall efficiency of 27.13 kpl.
You can expect the city to deliver 11-13 kpl in the city and 17-18 kpl on the highways. These figures with a 40-litre fuel tank give it a real-world range of 750-1000 km.
The Honda City is a premium mid-size sedan which is both enjoyable to drive and to be driven in. However, owning a decent mid-size sedan means regularly finding a good parking spot, getting the right insurance, and recharging FASTag.
The Park+ app can simplify the process and make owning a City a great experience. You can also avail of other Park+ services like car insurance and FASTag. You can even book a at-home car wash service to keep your Honda City clean and looking great.
