Along with previous sightings in India, a red test mule of the redesigned Hyundai Verna has been spotted on South Korean public roads, indicating worldwide testing.
With minor cosmetic changes and a significant interior upgrade, most notably a curved dual-screen cabin and potential new ADAS features, the update looks to be a minor facelift.
The redesigned Hyundai mid-size vehicle is now being tested in South Korea as well as India. Recently, a red test mule with a visible side profile and front and rear camouflage was seen on public highways.
The body character lines, beltline, and wheel design seem to be the same as the present India-spec vehicle. According to this dual-market testing, the update is nearing completion and may be on schedule for a worldwide release in the near future, with an arrival in India by late 2025 or early 2026.
Exterior Updates and What's Changing
Although the general outline is unchanged, the facelift results in minor but noticeable changes:
For a sharper, more polished appearance, the front fascia is probably going to get a revamped grille, new LED headlights, an updated DRL signature, and a changed bumper.
The iconic connected LED tail-lamp strip at the back is anticipated to make a comeback, but with improved internal graphics. It is expected that the present alloy wheels, boot-lid spoiler, and sporty fastback-style roofline will remain.
All things considered, it appears that the facelift will stick to what has worked thus far, updating the appearance without totally changing the design.
Interior and Technology, Where the Major Improvement Occurs
The 2026 Verna facelift is most noticeable inside. The redesigned cabin design of the more recent Hyundai Venue is probably the inspiration for the curved dual-screen layout seen in spy photographs. Hits indicate that the existing 10.25-inch panels will be replaced by dual 12.3-inch screens, along with speedier software and a more streamlined user interface.
The screens are complemented by a new, more contemporary, thinner D-cut steering wheel that perfectly complements the updated cabin atmosphere.
Additionally, by updating to a more sophisticated Level 2 ADAS suite, the facelift may enhance the car's already 5-star safety ratings.
Powertrain, Segment Standing, and What's Still Known
There won't be much of a mechanical difference. The 1.5-liter normally aspirated petrol engine (with manual or CVT options) and the 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine (with manual or 7-speed DCT) will probably remain part of the facelifted Verna's powerplant lineup.
The 2026 Verna facelift attempts to increase its appeal against competitors in the competitive midsize sedan sector, such as Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Honda City, with just minor outward changes but a stronger, more technologically advanced interior.
A Strategic Update Rather Than a Reinvention
The 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift doesn't try to change the game plan. Rather, it provides a well-balanced update: a considerably improved inside to satisfy contemporary demands for comfort and technology, and just enough outward changes to maintain a current appearance. When the redesigned Verna debuts in early 2026, it may be an appealing choice for consumers who like the current sedan's blend of comfort, safety, and affordability but desire a little more style and contemporary convenience.
