The 2026 Tata Punch CNG Facelift was spotted in Munnar

Significant outward and interior changes to the impending 2026 Tata Punch CNG have been revealed during testing in Munnar. The updated design includes a more upscale cockpit with a larger touchscreen and digital instrument cluster, a redesigned grille, new tail lamps, and a sharper LED lighting setup. With the same dependable 1.2-liter petrol-CNG drivetrain and additional safety equipment like six airbags expected as standard, the new Punch seeks to improve its standing in the cutthroat small SUV market.

  • A new facelift for the Tata Punch and CNG appears during testing

The 2026 Tata Punch CNG has once again been seen, this time at Munnar, Kerala, providing fans with a better idea of what's to come. Even though the test mule was covered in camouflage and parked by the side of the road, there are clear design alterations. This facelift, which takes design inspiration from Tata's most recent SUVs, suggests a more sophisticated and modern Punch.

Sharper, more contemporary, SUV-like exterior changes

The facelift Punch seems to embrace a more luxurious style based on the spy photos. The bottom grille has been changed, and the front fascia now has a revised grille with horizontal slats. The lighting configuration is notably different: LED DRLs are thought to be located higher, a pattern akin to one of the brand's recent models, while the main headlamps are housed in a triangular housing.

A reworked tail-lamp cluster, a new bootlid and bumper form, and perhaps integrated tail lamps on higher trim levels are some of the minor but noticeable changes at the back that give the vehicle a leaner, sportier appearance.

Signature features like squared wheel arches, roof rails, blacked-out pillars, C-pillar placed rear door handles, and a shark-fin antenna are all still present in the side profile. Also possible are new alloy wheels.

Upgrades, improved comfort and technology inside the cabin

The Punch's facelifted interior looks considerably more contemporary. A huge touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument console appear to be there, according to spy photos. The quality sense is further enhanced by a new two-spoke steering wheel, maybe with an illuminated emblem like other recent Tata cars.

Additionally, Tata might increase comfort and safety. According to reports, six airbags will be standard on all facelift models. Extras like wireless charging, rear AC vents, a blind spot monitor, front ventilated seats, and ongoing support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay may be available on higher model levels.

CNG is part of the familiar powertrain

The Punch refresh will maintain its current powertrain options mechanically. The 1.2-liter Revotron gasoline engine, which can be mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, produces 87.8 PS and 115 Nm. The CNG version, which only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and produces 73.5 PS and 103 Nm, is still available.

The dual-tank configuration, which distinguishes Punch from other CNG vehicles, is anticipated to stay. This maintains practicality while addressing the prevalent problem of CNG cars having less cargo space.

What it entails is progress without straying from power

With these modifications, the Punch facelift seems to achieve a balance between contemporary design and remaining loyal to its advantages, compact size, CNG efficiency, and usefulness. It will be able to compete in the sub-4-meter SUV market thanks to the updated design and improved functionality. With competitors like the Maruti Fronx and Hyundai Exter in the mix, these improvements could give Punch a new advantage.

Although the launch date has not yet been officially confirmed, the makeover may be unveiled anytime in 2026 based on the numerous spy sightings and improved modifications. Car buyers who like a small SUV with contemporary features and CNG efficiency might want to keep an eye out.
