The electric SUV is expected to cost ₹80 lakh to ₹90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-Benz has opened bookings for the GLC Electric across India. The electric SUV is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2026, and will be assembled at the company's Chakan plant in Pune.
India will receive the 400 4Matic version. Its international specification includes a 94 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The final specifications and price for the Indian market will be confirmed at launch.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric Range and Performance
At the core of the GLC Electric 400 4Matic is a substantial 94 kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. The powertrain produces a potent 490 hp and 800 Nm of torque.
Despite carrying a kerb weight of nearly 2.5 tonnes, the electric SUV sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 4.3 seconds. On a full charge, it delivers an official WLTP-certified driving range of up to 715 km, significantly mitigating range anxiety on highway stretches.
DC Charging and Suspension
The GLC Electric supports DC fast charging at up to 330 kW, which can add a claimed range of approximately 300 km in 10 minutes under suitable conditions.
To ensure composed ride comfort in tight city streets:
Air Suspension: Fitted as standard to glide smoothly over uneven pavement.
Rear-Axle Steering: Provides up to 4.5 degrees of counter-steer, reducing the turning radius and improving high-speed cornering stability.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric Exterior Design
The GLC Electric features a grille with illuminated elements, projector LED headlamps and tri-star-shaped LED daytime running lamps. The side profile includes flush-fitting door handles, slim wheel-arch cladding and alloy wheels measuring up to 21 inches.
At the rear, the SUV gets LED tail lamps with circular outlines and star-shaped elements, joined by a gloss-black trim. The front Mercedes-Benz logo is illuminated, while the rear features a three-dimensional badge.
Internationally, the 400 4Matic is also available in an AMG Line version, which gets a different grille design and sportier alloy wheels.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric Interior and Features
Inside, the GLC Electric features a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that combines the driver's instrument cluster, central infotainment screen and front passenger display beneath a curved glass surface.
Integrated Displays: The screen brings together the driver’s display, central infotainment system and front passenger display in one unit.
Software: The system uses the fourth-generation MBUX interface and includes an AI voice assistant.
Physical Controls: The steering wheel and centre console retain physical buttons alongside the touchscreen controls.
The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is expected to be priced between ₹80 lakh and ₹90 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The official price will be announced at launch.
