Skoda Auto India Posts Record Q1 2026 Sales, Kylaq Leads with 11,300 Units

Skoda Auto India has closed the first quarter of 2026 on a high note, recording its best-ever quarterly sales tally of 20,028 units, a 17 per cent jump over the same period in 2025. The Kylaq remains the undisputed hero of this surge, having already crossed the 50,000-unit milestone since launch. With the new Kushaq settling in and the Slavia facelift on the horizon, the Czech brand's India story continues to gather real pace.

  • Skoda Auto India achieves its highest-ever Q1 sales of 20,028 units in 2026, up 17% year-on-year, with the Kylaq accounting for 11,300 of those deliveries.

  • A performance-oriented Kylaq Sportline variant and a Slavia facelift are both confirmed for the second half of 2026.

Skoda Auto India has kicked off 2026 in style, notching up its highest-ever quarterly sales figure in the January to March period. The Czech automaker sold 20,028 cars, marking a robust 17 per cent increase over the 17,138 units recorded during the same quarter in 2025.

For a brand that spent several years navigating a tough Indian market, these numbers represent a genuine turning point, one built on product relevance, widening reach, and a growing sense of customer trust.

Kylaq Carries the Weight, and Does It Well

If there is one model responsible for transforming Skoda's fortunes in India, it is the Kylaq. The compact SUV accounted for 11,300 units in Q1 2026, a significant jump from the 7,800 units it delivered during its first quarter on sale in early 2025.

The Kylaq has now crossed the 50,000-unit cumulative sales milestone since its launch, a figure that confirms its appeal well beyond the initial wave of early adopters. It has effectively opened the brand to a new set of buyers, particularly in regions where Skoda had limited traction before.

Alongside the Kylaq, the Kushaq contributed 3,000 units and the Slavia sedan added 3,800 units to the tally, rounding out a healthy spread across segments. The Kodiaq and the Octavia RS, both of which were launched in India last year, have further complemented the portfolio at the premium end.

What Is Keeping Buyers Coming Back

Beyond the products themselves, Skoda has invested in strengthening the ownership experience through its Skoda Super Care programme. This package offers a standard four-year warranty, four years of roadside assistance, and four labour-free services across the range.

Combined with a network that now spans 330 customer touchpoints across more than 180 cities, the brand has made itself considerably more accessible than it was even two years ago.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India, attributed the performance to a sharper product portfolio, deeper market reach, and a stronger focus on customer-centric initiatives, adding that the brand remains focused on launching relevant products while enhancing the overall ownership experience.

The Sportline and Slavia Facelift Are Next in Line

Kylaq Sportline to Arrive in the Second Half of 2026

Skoda has confirmed that a Sportline variant of the Kylaq is in the pipeline for the latter half of this year. It will bring new paint schemes and revised interiors while retaining the familiar 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine.

Slavia Facelift Confirmed for H2 2026

The Slavia sedan is also set to receive a facelift in the second half of 2026. The updated model is expected to feature the same revisions seen on the new Kushaq and will be offered with the new 1.0-litre engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that made its debut on the recently launched Kushaq.

Having recorded a 107 per cent year-on-year growth with 72,665 cars sold across all of 2025, Skoda Auto India appears to have found a winning formula in a market that once felt far out of reach.
