MINI Convertible JCW Pack Launched in India at Rs. 61.50 Lakh

MINI India has quietly turned up the heat on its open-top offering with the launch of the Convertible JCW Pack, a sportier, more visually aggressive version of the standard Convertible that draws heavily from the brand's John Cooper Works DNA. Priced at Rs. 61.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and available in limited numbers, it asks for a Rs. 3 lakh premium over the base model. Here is everything you need to know.

  • MINI India launches the Convertible JCW Pack at Rs. 61.50 lakh, Rs. 3 lakh more than the standard model, in limited numbers.

  • The car gets JCW-inspired body styling, sports seats, a new steering wheel, and a 201bhp turbo petrol engine with a 6.9-second 0 to 100 km/h claim.

A Rs. 3 Lakh Premium for John Cooper Works Flavour

The MINI Convertible has always had its share of admirers in India, and the brand clearly knows it. The newly launched Convertible JCW Pack builds directly on that foundation, arriving as a completely built unit at Rs. 61.50 lakh, ex-showroom. That figure sits Rs. 3 lakh above the standard Convertible, and for those wondering what the premium buys, the answer lies firmly in the world of John Cooper Works aesthetics and cabin upgrades. Availability is limited, so this one is not going to hang around on order books for long.

Exterior Changes That Mean Business

The JCW Pack does not mess about when it comes to visual presence. The front and rear bumpers are revised to look the part, and the grille gets a unique treatment to set it apart from the regular model.

Side skirts and door sill plates add to the purposeful stance, while piano black exterior detailing ties the whole look together. Sitting beneath all of this are 17-inch JCW Sprint Spoke alloy wheels finished in black, which suit the car's character rather well. Buyers can choose between two exterior colours, Legend Grey and Midnight Black.

The LED headlamps come with customisable light signatures and welcome animations, which is the sort of theatre MINI has always done rather well.

The Soft Top That Opens

One of the genuine joys of any convertible is how quickly the roof comes down, and MINI has not skimped here. The electrically operated black soft top takes just 18 seconds to open at speeds of up to 30kmph, with closing taking a slightly shorter 15 seconds.

It can also function as a sunroof with partial opening, which makes it genuinely practical for India's unpredictable weather.

A Cabin Built for Driving Enthusiasm

Step inside and the JCW influence is immediately felt. The sports seats are badged accordingly, and the steering wheel is a new JCW unit complete with paddle shifters. The upholstery is a combination of black Vescin and Cord, which gives the interior a premium yet sporty look that works well with the rest of the car's character.

The dashboard layout centres around MINI's circular OLED touchscreen, which handles both infotainment and instrumentation duties in one elegant package. The feature list is well-rounded, including a head-up display, Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and digital key functionality.

Multiple drive experience modes such as Go Kart, Green, and Vivid allow the driver to tailor how the car responds to their mood and the road ahead.

Performance Figures That Back Up the Looks

Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 201bhp and 300Nm of torque. Power reaches the wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

MINI claims a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 6.9 seconds, with a top speed rated at 240 km/h. These are not just numbers on paper; they represent a car that is genuinely quick when asked, particularly with the roof down and Go Kart mode engaged.
