A look at the planned debut timetable for the facelifted Mahindra XUV700, presumably during the first half of January 2026, and what’s new in its design and tech.
A summary of the interior changes, comfort, safety and whether the powertrain remains unaltered.
Mahindra seems to have concentrated on revitalizing the SUV's exterior. It is anticipated that the updated model will have new LED headlamps with an eye-catching C-shaped daytime running light (DRL) signature, a redesigned grille, and updated bumpers.
In order to give the SUV a more contemporary and upscale appearance, alloy wheels and taillight units will also be updated.
While the silhouette and overall dimensions remain virtually the same, small tweaks like updated tail-lights and new wheel styles (potentially up to 19-inch alloys) let the facelift stand out enough from the current model.
Interior & Comfort, Tech-Heavy, and Premium
Inside, the facelifted SUV gets its largest improvement. Spy pictures and media sources suggest a brand-new dashboard layout, the cabin will have a triple-screen setup: a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment tablet, and a dedicated display for the front passenger.
Additionally, with a 16-speaker Harman/Kardon system, possibly with Dolby Atmos support for immersive sound, the XUV 7XO is anticipated to provide a high-end audio experience.
A panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a reworked steering wheel with updated controls, and ventilated seats (even in the second-row captain-seat six-seater version) are apparently further comfort-focused improvements.
Tech & Safety: Keeping Up with Modern SUVs
The updated XUV700 is anticipated to be equipped with cutting-edge safety technology and driver assistance to meet the increasing demands of consumers. The SUV could include a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), incorporating technologies like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping aid, emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera.
The 2026 model will be noticeably more technologically advanced than the previous model due to the expected installation of parking aids, including front and rear sensors, auto-park assist, and other convenience features.
Performance, Known Engines, Equivalent Dependability
No significant adjustments have been made underneath. The 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine and the 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel will remain the powertrain options for the redesigned XUV700. Transmission choices will remain a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
This means owners get all the new style, comfort, and technological updates, without compromising on the driving performance that made XUV700 successful in the first place.
What to Expect, Launch Timing & Anticipation
While exact pricing is yet to be released, hopes are that Mahindra will price the facelifted XUV700 affordably, according to the changes offered.
If all goes as planned, the first wave of deliveries might begin very shortly after the January unveil, making early 2026 an exciting period for SUV purchasers looking for a feature-packed family vehicle with proven performance.
