Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the 3XO, a facelifted version of the popular XUV300, boasting significant upgrades both inside and out. Notably, it is the first vehicle in its segment to feature a panoramic sunroof and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The 3XO is available with three engine options, including two turbo-petrol variants and a diesel option. We recently conducted a real-world mileage test on the diesel model, and here are the results.
Price and Powertrain Details
Price Range: The diesel variant starts at Rs. 9.99 lakh for the MX2 version and goes up to Rs. 14.99 lakh for the top-of-the-line AX7L variant (all prices ex-showroom).
Engine Specifications: The diesel model is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed automatic (AMT) and a six-speed manual (MT), which is the version we tested.
City Mileage
During our city driving test, the Mahindra 3XO covered 78.5 km on a designated route, consuming 6.38 litres of diesel. This resulted in a real-world mileage of 12.3 kmpl, which is commendable for a vehicle weighing close to 1.5 tons. The instrument cluster reported a fuel efficiency of 13.5 kmpl during this test.
Highway Mileage
On the highway, the 3XO followed another pre-defined route for 80.5 km, achieving a real-world fuel economy of 17.8 kmpl. The trip computer displayed figures between 20-22 kmpl, ultimately recording a final displayed mileage of 20.7 kmpl. With a fuel tank capacity of 42 litres, the 3XO boasts an impressive average driving range of over 600 km.
The Mahindra 3XO diesel manual demonstrates solid mileage performance in both city and highway conditions, making it a viable choice for buyers seeking efficiency in a premium SUV. With its competitive pricing, powerful engine, and a suite of modern features, the 3XO stands out as a compelling option in its segment.
