The Hyundai Exter was launched in India on July 10. This is the Korean brand's smallest model yet for the Indian market. Also unveiled digitally, it is set to compete with Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Fronx in the small SUV segment.
The Hyundai Exter will be based on the same platform as the Hyundai Grand i10 and Aura sedan and will feature a unique exterior design and an array of new features exclusive to the New Hyundai Exter SUV.
Hyundai Exter Price
The Price for the new Hyundai Exter starts from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Hyundai Exter gets a 3 year, unlimited kilometers warranty. Customers can also opt for up to 7 years extended warranty.
Hyundai Exter Dimensions
In terms of dimensions, the micro SUV is expected to measure somewhere between 3800 to 3900 mm, 1,700-1750 mm in width, 1600-1650 mm in height and a wheelbase of around 2450mm.
Hyundai Exter Engine Specifications
The Hyundai Exter will be powered by a sole 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, kappa petrol engine which puts out 83 PS of power and 113.8 Nm of torque. The company claims 19.4 kmpl fuel-efficiency for manual variants and 19.2 kmpl fuel-efficiency for AMT.
The Exter will also get a factory-fitted CNG kit and the engine will produce 69hp and 95.2Nm of torque in CNG mode. CNG variants will only come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Hyundai Exter Design
Exter features a split headlamp setup at the front, with H shaped LED DRLs. The tail light also features the same H shaped design. It has an overall boxy layout, with modern styling elements.
At the side, the Exter gets a squared chunky wheel arch with dual-tone alloy wheels. Moving on to the rear, the Exter features a thick black stripe that connects both the tail lamps and it also gets a black-out bumper with a diffuser.
The upper part gets turn indicators whereas the lower part gets a headlamp cluster with projector lamps.
Hyundai Exter Interior
On the inside, Hyundai Exter Interior has a cabin setup similar to the Grand i10 NIOS, which consists of dual digital display setup and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
It also has cruise control, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, rear AC vents, a dashcam and more.
Hyundai Exter Safety
On the safety front, the Exter gets electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill assist control, rear parking sensors, TPMS (Highline), six airbags(standard) and more.
Hyundai Exter Color Options
Hyundai Exter will be available in Ranger Khaki, Cosmic Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red and Starry Night. Former three will also be available in dual tone option.
Hyundai Exter Variants
The Hyundai Exter will be offered in five variants - EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect. The Exter will be the most affordable SUV in Hyundai India’s line-up. The AMT variants of the new Hyundai get first-in-segment paddle shifters.
