Every Brand’s Dark Edition SUV under Rs 15 Lakhs

The demand for SUVs is at a record high in the Indian automobile market, with the majority of the best-selling models being priced below Rs 15 lakh. Since personalisation is also valued by customers, manufacturers provide several colour options for their SUVs, and black is a favourite – so much so that some companies have bespoke "dark editions" with a blacked-out colour scheme for the interior and exterior

The demand for SUVs is at a record high in the Indian automobile market, with the majority of the best-selling models being priced below Rs 15 lakh.

Since personalisation is also a concern for buyers, companies provide a range of colour options for their SUVs, and black is a favourite – so much so that some companies have custom "dark editions" with a blacked-out colour scheme for both the exterior and interior.

We have a list of all the dark edition SUVs you can purchase for below Rs 15 lakh.

  1. Hyundai Exter Knight Edition

Kicking off the list is Hyundai’s entry-level SUV, the Exter. Buyers can opt for the all-black treatment starting from the Exter’s SX Knight Edition variant, which costs Rs 8.46 lakh, which is Rs 15,000 more than the equivalent SX trim.

The Exter Knight Edition offers a blacked-out finish on the exterior with ‘Knight Edition’ badging and red accents in the front bumper, brake calipers and tailgate. The interior also remains true to the theme with black trim, red stitching, footwell illumination, etc. The higher-end Knight Edition Dual Tone versions feature a black roof and various color choices on the body.

The second-cheapest dark edition is the Hyundai Venue, whose S(O) Knight Edition variant has a price tag of Rs 10.34 lakh.

Just like the Exter, the Venue Knight Edition takes on an all-black look with diamond-cut red brake calipers. But it gets brass-colored wheel and bumper accents and a 'Knight Edition' badge on the boot. The brass highlights are also continued into the cabin around the air-con vents and gear lever and in the steering wheel.

Even inside, the lights-out look is carried through with a fully black dashboard, centre console, steering wheel, and seat upholstery, with only the dark blue seat backs providing a bit of colour. The Dark Edition package starts from Nexon's Creative Plus variants at an extra cost of Rs 40,000.

The interior continues the all-black theme for the leatherette trim as well as other trim elements, such as the gear lever.

Moreover, there's red stitching on seats, armrests and the dashboard, 'Dark Edition' embossing on the rear seat backs, illuminated sill plates, and footwell and ambient lighting. Basalt Dark Edition is developed over the range-topping Max trim and retails at Rs 23,000 extra.
