A new car purchase might be challenging, especially if you want to spend less than Rs. 15 lakh on a sedan. There are many options, and we've prepared a list of the top sedans for under Rs. 15 lakh.

Toyota Yaris

Toyota's Yaris is the first ever attempt to compete in India's fiercely competitive compact sedan sector. For the petrol manual and automatic versions of the Yaris, the costs range from Rs 8.75 to 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom India) and from Rs 9.95 to 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom India), respectively. The top-tier Toyota Yaris comes equipped with leather upholstery, a touchscreen infotainment system, and cruise control. In addition, it has built-in ambient lighting and roof-mounted AC vents, which are both first-rate additions. A start-stop button and automatic climate control are additional amenities available on the Toyota Yaris. However, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, one of the most popular sedans in India, was recently added to the business's high-end retail network, Nexa. Two engine options are available for the well-known Maruti Suzuki sedan: a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, these engines are no longer sold through conventional Maruti Suzuki dealerships. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is a compact car with prices starting at Rs. 8.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Sigma Petrol variant. Depending on the chosen variant, the car line is generously equipped with entertainment, comfort, convenience, and safety features. These features include a touchscreen SmartPlay system, navigation system, reverse parking sensor and camera. However, two airbags and ABS with EBD are standard features across the entire range.

Honda City

Honda introduced the facelifted version of the City sedan earlier this year in February, considering the fierce competition in the segment. The 2017 Honda City, which has numerous aesthetic improvements and brand-new features, received more than 14,000 orders in a single month. The most recent model of Honda's best-selling vehicle now includes a 7-inch advanced infotainment system with capacitive touchscreen, satellite-linked turn-by-turn navigation, Mirrorlink support, voice recognition, automatic climate control, multi-view rear camera, and cruise control, among a plethora of other features. This is in addition to significant exterior changes. The Honda City comes standard with two airbags, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats in the back. A 1.5-litre i-VTEC gasoline engine and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine power the new Honda City.

Hyundai Verna

The Hyundai Verna receives an extensive list of new features and equipment while drawing design cues from its older sibling, the Elantra. As is clear, the front end has undergone the most significant changes. It now features a single-piece hexagonal grille and newly created headlamps with projector headlamps inside. The next-generation Hyundai Verna is constructed on the company's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy-compliant new "K2" platform. Hyundai has decided not to include the 1.4-litre gasoline and diesel engines also available in the previous Verna. Only the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines will be available. While the diesel engine cranks out 126 horsepower and 260 Nm of peak torque, the 1.6-litre gasoline engine produces 121 bhp and 151 Nm. Both engines are available with a 6-speed torque converter unit or a 6-speed manual transmission.

Nissan Sunny

The Nissan Sunny is now the most affordable vehicle among its competitors after getting a price reduction of up to Rs. 1.9 lakh. Nissan also unveiled the 2017 version of the sedan earlier this year, which features an overhauled interior and feature set. The 2017 Sunny has the option of an all-black interior, which includes new black interior panels, premium black cloth seats, and a push-button start. It also gets new equipment like an intelligent key, automatic air conditioning, a rear parking sensor and camera, and automatic climate control. The Nissan Sunny comes equipped with brake assist as standard across the entire range, in addition to driver-side airbags and ABS with EBD, for added security. The 1.5-litre gasoline and 1.5-litre k9k DCI diesel engines are available for Sunny.
