• Toyota Kirloskar Motor posted 35,145 units in March 2026, registering a 23.87 per cent year-on-year increase over March 2025's 28,373 units.
• The Urban Cruiser Hyryder topped sales at 10,206 units with 93.08 per cent YoY growth, while the Rumion recorded the highest jump at 117.07 per cent.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor closed March 2026 with total domestic sales of 35,145 units, up 23.87 per cent from the 28,373 units recorded in the same month of the previous year. The month also brought a healthy 14.35 per cent month-on-month improvement, adding 4,411 units over February 2026. The results reflect a strengthening demand across both the SUV and MPV segments, with hybrid powertrains continuing to play a defining role in shaping buyer preference.
Urban Cruiser Hyryder Becomes Toyota's Best-Selling Model in March 2026
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder took the top spot in Toyota's monthly sales chart with 10,206 units, representing a commanding 93.08 per cent year-on-year jump. The model's strong hybrid credentials have clearly resonated with Indian buyers, and it now stands as the primary volume driver for the brand.
In a market that is increasingly leaning towards fuel efficiency and technology, the Hyryder has emerged as a standout performer in Toyota's Indian portfolio.
Innova Hycross and Rumion Strengthen Toyota's MPV Offering
The Innova Hycross continued its steady run with 7,814 units in March, registering a 9.18 per cent YoY increase and a more impressive 29.35 per cent MoM rise. It remains a firm favourite in the premium MPV space, appealing to buyers who want something more refined than a standard people carrier.
Perhaps the more surprising story belongs to the Toyota Rumion. The affordable MPV posted 3,892 units, reflecting a substantial 117.07 per cent year-on-year growth. This figure points to a rapidly growing acceptance of the nameplate, particularly among buyers seeking a practical and value-oriented family option.
Fortuner Holds Steady While Glanza and Taisor Post Mixed Results
The Fortuner maintained its reputation for consistency, recording 3,795 units in March 2026, up 11.88 per cent YoY and 23.37 per cent MoM. It continues to be the preferred choice for buyers in the premium ladder-frame SUV segment.
The Glanza, Toyota's entry-level hatchback, sold 3,470 units with a marginal 0.89 per cent year-on-year dip, though it managed a positive 8.03 per cent MoM recovery.
The Taisor saw a more notable 18.83 per cent YoY decline with 2,815 units, suggesting the initial wave of enthusiasm around the model has begun to settle.
Innova Crysta Continues to Lose Ground to the Newer Hycross
The Innova Crysta moved 2,319 units but registered a 14.08 per cent year-on-year drop, a trend closely linked to the growing appeal of the Innova Hycross.
As buyers weigh the newer model's stronger feature set and powertrain options, the Crysta is gradually ceding ground it had long held unchallenged.
Niche Models and Month-on-Month Recovery Round Off a Positive March
The Camry posted 219 units and grew 7.88 per cent YoY, reflecting steady if modest demand in the executive saloon segment.
The Hilux, Vellfire and Land Cruiser 300 each saw year-on-year declines, though the LC300 showed notable MoM gains owing to a low base.
Overall, Toyota's March 2026 performance reflects a brand in good health, with hybrids and MPVs continuing to carry the lion's share of volume and momentum heading into the new financial year.
