The all-new Audi E5 Luxury EV revealed

The very first model in the Volkswagen Group's NEV (New Energy Vehicle) brand, AUDI, has finally been unveiled. The E5 Sportback debuted globally at the Volkswagen Group Media Night ahead of Auto Shanghai 2025.

The four-door E5 Sportback is a pure electric fastback with up to 777.4 bhp of power and a top range of 770km. Four powertrains provide rear- or quattro-wheel drive, the most powerful model reaching 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds from a standstill. Based on the new jointly developed Advanced Digitized Platform, the E5 will go on sale later this year in China.

The new brand AUDI in capital letters, without the four rings, ushers Audi into a new era in China. The E5 will be offered in four fully electric models with rear-wheel or quattro all-wheel drive at outputs of 220, 300, 425, or 579 kilowatts. The vehicle will also offer all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension.

Powertrain

The battery capacity of up to 100 kWh will be accompanied by a stated driving range of 770km. Due to ultra-fast 800-volt charging, the vehicle is able to restore 370km range in 10 minutes. After the E5, another two all-electric AUDI models will arrive in 2026 and 2027.

Future of Audi E5 Luxury EV

Audi's AUDI move is a resounding commitment to the Chinese EV market, which already stands as the world's biggest. Audi is aiming for a premium buyer who wants performance, luxury, and advanced tech — but without emissions.

Following the E5, there should be two more AUDI models within the next two years, further widening the brand's electric stable and introducing more thrilling choices for consumers.

Conclusion

The brand-new Audi E5 is a new direction for Audi in the electric age, combining heart-stopping performance, state-of-the-art tech, and opulent design. With its stunning 770 km range, accelerated charging speeds, and ground-breaking innovations such as all-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension, the E5 raises the benchmark for luxury EVs. As Audi builds out its electric portfolio under the new AUDI brand in China, the E5 not only reiterates the company's dedication to green mobility but also heralds a thrilling future for premium electric vehicles globally.
