Tesla's innovative Cybertruck has been rated five stars for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which attests to its safety credentials. This comes after the long-awaited market debut of its electric pickup in December 2023, following the first presentation in 2019 and multiple upgrades to remedy various electronic issues through software updates and recalls.
The NHTSA has done its full set of tests and found that the results are impressive across the spectrum of safety. The Cybertruck has earned a five-star rating for driver safety, the frontal and side crash tests, and it has earned a four-star rating for passenger safety, while it was rated four stars for rollover with an impressively low rollover risk of 12.40 percent.
The Cybertruck is presently available in an all-wheel-drive configuration, and has stupendous performance characteristics. The mid-range AWD variant produced 605 bhp, accelerating to 0-100 kmph in 4.1 seconds and achieving a top speed of 180 kmph. The performance specs on the Cyberbeast are a step up, with 850 bhp, going from 0-100 kmph in less than 3 seconds and clocking a top speed of 209 kmph.
Both variants are endowed with large batteries and substantial range numbers. The Cyberbeast has a decreased range of 514 km, maintaining its performance levels, while the mid-tier maintains a respectable range of 547 km, showing Tesla's dedication to excellent combination of performance and practicality.
