In a major boost to India's electric vehicle (EV) revolution, Tata Power and Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) have joined hands to install 500+ fast and ultra-fast EV charging points across the country. This strategic collaboration aims to alleviate range anxiety for EV owners and expedite the transition to a sustainable transportation landscape.
The partnership will see Tata Power, a leading EV charging solutions provider, leverage IOCL's extensive network of retail outlets to set up charging points in major cities and key highways. This includes Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Kochi, as well as expressways like Mumbai-Pune and Salem-Kochi.

"Our partnership with IOCL is a strategic move towards establishing a robust EV charging network," said Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development-EV Charging at Tata Power. "By leveraging their widespread presence, we can contribute to a seamless and inclusive future for electric mobility."
EV users will benefit from a dual advantage: the 'Tata Power EZ Charge app and 'IndianOil e-Charge mobile app will enable them to locate and book chargers effortlessly.
Saumitra Shrivastava, Executive Director (Retail-N&E) at IOCL, emphasized the company's commitment to adapting to the rising demand for EVs. "IOCL aims to provide 10,000 EV charging stations by 2024, transforming our retail network into complete energy solutions outlets," he said. "This partnership with Tata Power is crucial in responding to this transformation and driving a more sustainable mobility future."
With over 62,000 home chargers, 4,900 public and semi-public charging points, and 430 bus charging stations, Tata Power already boasts a substantial network across 420+ cities. This collaboration further strengthens their position as a leader in the EV charging domain, fueling the nation's electric dreams and accelerating the clean energy transition.
