Next-Gen Hyundai Venue Spied Testing in India: Launch Expected by Late 2025

The next-gen Hyundai Venue has been spotted with a camouflaged rear in India, showcasing promising updates to its design and features. A launch could be around the corner by 2025-end.

The next generation of Hyundai’s popular subcompact SUV, the Venue, has made its appearance in India. Spied with heavy camouflage, the test mule gives a sneak peek into the upcoming design changes. After initial sightings in South Korea, the SUV has now been spotted on Indian roads, hinting at its developmental phase.

The Venue, which was first launched in 2019 and updated with a facelift in 2022, has been due for a generational upgrade. Hyundai seems to be gearing up to take on its refreshed competition with this highly anticipated update.

Refreshed Design: Evolutionary, Not Revolutionary

The spy shots primarily reveal the rear quarter and side profile of the SUV, showing a mix of retained elements and new upgrades.

Silhouette and Side Updates

  • The overall shape of the Venue seems to be carried over from its predecessor, maintaining a compact yet muscular stance.

  • Changes are evident in the rear window area, where a thicker C-pillar adds a sense of robustness.

  • The ORVMs appear to be carried over, but a new set of alloy wheels is expected, possibly 16-inch or 17-inch options.

Rear-End Enhancements

  • The tail lamps now feature a sleeker LED design, contributing to a more modern appearance.

  • A newly designed bumper gives the rear a sportier vibe, aligning with current SUV trends.

What About the Front?

While the latest spy shots don’t reveal the front, earlier images from South Korea hint at a significant refresh. These changes might include:

  • A redesigned parametric grille.

  • LED daytime running lights with a triple ice-cube pattern.

  • Vertically stacked LED headlamps that give the Venue a bold, updated look.

Inside the Cabin: Modern and Feature-Packed

Although the interiors remain under wraps, Hyundai is likely to equip the next-gen Venue with several advanced features.

  • The dashboard could get a dual 10.2-inch screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation, as seen in other Hyundai and Kia models.

  • Expect a new seat design and updated upholstery to enhance the cabin’s premium feel.

  • Additional tech upgrades and connected car features could make their way into the new Venue to match its competition.

Will It Retain the Same Engines?

Under the hood, the next-gen Venue is expected to retain the current range of engine options, which have proven reliable and popular among buyers.

  • 1.2L Petrol Engine: A naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

  • 1.0L Turbo Petrol Engine: A 3-cylinder option with turbocharging, paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT.

  • 1.5L Diesel Engine: A 4-cylinder turbo diesel with 6-speed manual transmission.

While these options are expected to carry over, Hyundai could fine-tune them for improved efficiency and performance to stay competitive.

Rising Competition: The Need for a Major Upgrade

The subcompact SUV market is bustling with fresh models from various automakers, such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, and the upcoming Kia Syros. These rivals bring newer features, more refined designs, and extensive updates, making the current Venue feel a bit dated in comparison.

Hyundai is banking on this generational upgrade to reclaim its stronghold in the segment. With the addition of advanced tech, updated styling, and possibly new safety features, the Venue could set a new benchmark.

Launch Timeline and Expectations

Reports suggest that the next-gen Hyundai Venue could be ready for launch by the end of 2025. If Hyundai delivers on its promise of updated design and features, it could disrupt the competitive subcompact SUV market once again.

In conclusion, the next-generation Hyundai Venue appears to be on track for a significant refresh. With updated aesthetics, added tech features, and its proven powertrain lineup, it is poised to take on rivals in the fiercely competitive subcompact SUV segment. Expect the Venue to make its mark when it hits the roads by late 2025.
