The much-anticipated revival of the Tata Sierra has entered its testing phase, with the first spy shots emerging from Indian roads. Following its near-production showcase at Auto Expo 2025, the SUV maintains its iconic silhouette while embracing contemporary design elements.
The test mule, identified as the ICE version through its visible central air intake, wears heavy camouflage but reveals key design features. These include a split headlamp setup, a connected LED light bar at the rear, and the Sierra's signature curved-over rear windows. While the prototype rides on steel wheels, the production version is expected to feature 19-inch alloys on higher trims.
The interior, though not visible in recent spy shots, is expected to mirror the Auto Expo showcase, featuring a sophisticated floating triple-screen setup and a four-spoke steering wheel. To optimize costs, the production model will likely share components with Tata's existing SUV lineup.
Under the hood, the Sierra will offer multiple powertrain options. The ICE variant is expected to feature a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 170hp and 280Nm of torque alongside a 1.5-litre diesel engine borrowed from the Curvv. With an anticipated length of 4.3 meters, the Sierra will position itself below the Harrier in Tata's lineup, competing directly with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara when it launches in late 2025.
