The Mahindra XUV700 has gained significant popularity in India, offering versatility with diesel and petrol options and various seating configurations. However, the SUV's popularity has led to extended waiting periods. Notably, the waiting period for the top-spec AX7 L variant has now reduced to just 2 months, a noteworthy improvement compared to previous durations.

As of the latest updates, the waiting period for the entry-level MX and AX3 variants is merely 1 month, providing a quicker delivery timeline for eager customers. Moving up the trim levels, the AX5 and AX7 variants come with a slightly extended waiting period of 1.5 months. The highest-spec AX7 L variant, despite its popularity, now boasts a waiting period of 2 months, showcasing improved efficiency in Mahindra's production and delivery processes.
Notably, variants equipped with ESP (Electronic Stability Program) currently have no specified waiting period, providing a more immediate option for customers seeking enhanced safety features.
Mahindra has been actively working on enhancing the XUV700 lineup, and a recent development includes the introduction of an automatic version for the entry-level MX variant. This addition aims to compete with smaller SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The company's commitment to ramping up production has resulted in a significant reduction in the overall delivery backlog, dropping from 2.86 lakh units in November 2023 to 2.26 lakh units as of February 1, 2024.
In terms of pricing, the Mahindra XUV700 is available at a range of Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 26.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). Its competitors in the market include the Tata Harrier, Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector and Hector Plus.
With the reduced waiting periods and continuous efforts to enhance the XUV700 lineup, Mahindra aims to provide a more satisfying and prompt ownership experience for its customers. The SUV's popularity is likely to continue, given its competitive features, pricing, and improvements in availability.
