Kia India records its highest-ever February sales at 27,610 units, marking a 10.3% year-on-year growth.
The all-new Seltos leads demand, while the Carens Clavis EV signals Kia's growing electric ambitions in India.
It's been a rather good start to 2026 for Kia India. The brand has just wrapped up February with 27,610 units sold, its highest-ever tally for the month since it first launched in India back in 2019. That's a 10.3% jump over the 25,026 units it moved in February 2025, and it's the kind of figure that demands attention.
What makes it even more interesting is that sales remained virtually flat compared to January 2026, when Kia shifted 27,603 units. In an industry that often sees sharp swings between months, that kind of consistency is genuinely worth noting.
Two Months Running: Double-Digit Growth Is No Fluke
This isn't a one-off spike. February marks the second consecutive month of double-digit year-on-year growth for the brand, a streak that suggests Kia's momentum is built on something more solid than a single popular model or a fleeting promotional push.
Kia credits the performance to what it calls a "well-balanced product mix." In plain terms, that means no single car is doing all the heavy lifting; every model in the range is pulling its weight.
The Stars of the Show
The All-New Seltos Still the One to Beat
At the heart of Kia's strong sales run is the refreshed Seltos, and it's not hard to see why buyers are warming to it. With a sharper design, a more tech-forward interior, and a significantly beefed-up safety package, the new Seltos continues to feel like a benchmark in the competitive mid-size SUV space.
Customers are clearly responding; it remains one of the most talked-about SUVs in its segment right now.
Sonet Holds Its Ground
The compact Sonet hasn't lost its appeal either. It continues to hold its own in what is arguably India's most fiercely contested SUV category, delivering strong volumes and keeping Kia relevant at a more accessible price point.
Carens Clavis, Family Favourite
In the MPV segment, the Carens Clavis has found a loyal audience. Spacious, practical, and family-friendly, it continues to strengthen Kia's hand in a segment that many manufacturers have quietly given up on.
Clavis EV, The Electric Conversation Starts Here
Perhaps the most intriguing part of Kia's February story is the gradual rise of the Clavis EV. It's not setting sales charts alight just yet, but it is attracting genuine interest from buyers who are beginning to think seriously about making the switch to electric. It's early days, but the direction of travel is clear.
Carnival Luxury at the Top
Rounding out the portfolio, the Carnival continues to hold Kia's flag high in the premium MPV space, reinforcing the brand's ability to compete at the luxury end without breaking a sweat.
A Brand That Means Business
Behind the sales numbers lies a broader strategy that Kia is executing with some precision. The company's "mass-premium" positioning offering advanced features like ADAS, connected car technology, and a polished ownership experience at competitive prices appears to be striking a chord with Indian buyers who want more for their money.
The network expansion is equally telling. Kia now operates across 849 touchpoints in 382 cities, making it easier than ever for customers to buy, service, or simply explore the range. Add in 122 Certified Pre-Owned outlets, and you've got a brand that's clearly thinking beyond the first sale.
Speaking on the results, Mr. Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said the record February performance reflects growing consumer trust in the brand. He highlighted that the strong response to the Seltos, Sonet, and the Clavis line-up shows Kia's ability to keep pace with changing customer expectations, including a rising curiosity around electric mobility.
What This Means Going Forward
Kia India's February 2026 showing is more than just a number. It's a signal that the brand has found its rhythm, balancing volume models with premium offerings and beginning to build a credible EV story alongside its petrol and diesel staples. If the first two months of the year are anything to go by, 2026 could shape up to be Kia India's most significant year yet.
