India’s fastest car, the Audi R8 V10, breaks quarter-mile national record.

Rounds 1 and 2 of the FMSCI Indian National Drag Racing Championship 2025 were record-breaking. The three-day championship took place at Taneja Aerospace in Hosur, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, from April 18 to 20. Sean Rogers Pachigalla's twin-turbo Audi R8 bettered his quarter-mile record of 9.215 seconds, which he had achieved at the Valley Run in 2024.

Key Highlights:

  1. Audi R8 V10 is the quickest car with a quarter-mile time of 8.849 seconds.

  2. Sean Rogers Pachigalla broke the record he achieved last year.

Twin-Turbo Audi R8 is the fastest car in India

Pachigalla, who was running in the top open class, posted a 9.635-second time in Round 1 on Friday over the 402-metre distance. He ran 8.948 seconds in Round 2 on Sunday, which was also a new national record. He also won the Indian Open M3 (Unlimited) class on Sunday by posting an 8.955-second time.

Still, his quickest dash was at the Vroom Drag Meet – an event supporting meet – where he clocked an incredible 8.849 seconds, breaking his own national best. Pachigalla's Audi R8 V10+, Venom Performance-tuned and powered by a Sheepey Race twin-turbo kit delivering more than 1600hp, is now officially the quickest car in India over the quarter-mile – and the first to break through the 9-second barrier.

Among the other features, 80-year-old Vidyaprakash Damondaran, the oldest participant in the event, was unbeaten in the Pro-Stock 3061cc-4002cc category in both rounds, driving his Audi TT. Bengaluru's Shreyas Mahendra won three categories – Pro-Stock 2051-2550cc, Indian Open M1, and M2 – in Round 1.

Taking center stage was Sean Rogers Pachigalla, whose twin-turbo Audi R8 V10+ dominated the Unrestricted and Indian Open M3 classes while also breaking the national quarter-mile record with an incredible 8.849-second effort at the Vroom Drag Meet. His run solidifies the Audi R8 V10 as the quickest car in India, becoming the first one to break the 9-second barrier.

The championship also featured spectacular talents across all classes. Experience rider Vidyaprakash Damodaran, aged 80, went on undefeated in his category, while triple winner of Round 1 Shreyas Mahendra took center stage among the event's highlights.
