Distinctive Design Elements:
The E:NS2 and E:NP2 maintain a strikingly similar design, sharing dimensions, battery, and motor specifications. However, each model exhibits distinct features, with the Dongfeng-built E:NS2 showcasing angular LED Daytime Running Lamps reminiscent of Peugeot cars. In contrast, the GAC-built E:NP2 adopts horizontal DRLs, drawing inspiration from Honda's latest global designs, particularly the Civic.
A common design element across both models is the broad horizontal bars on the front and rear bumpers, creating a futuristic appearance reminiscent of high-tech air conditioning units. The sloping rear roofline contributes to a crossover-like aesthetic, departing from the conventional upright SUV design.
Technical Specifications:
According to filings from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), both EV SUVs boast a single motor generating 204 horsepower from a 68.8 kWh battery. Remarkably, the two models share identical dimensions, including a wheelbase of 2,735mm, width of 1,840mm, and height of 1,570mm. While their overall lengths differ by just 1mm, with the E:NP2 being slightly longer, the specifications align closely to offer a balanced driving experience.
Market Outlook:
As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the introduction of the E:NS2 and E:NP2 models in India. However, Honda's commitment to electric mobility in the country is evident through its ACE (Asian Compact Electric) project. This initiative aims to bring an EV based on the Elevate concept to India, with an anticipated launch in 2026. Honda has already initiated the retooling of its manufacturing plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan, signaling its preparations for the electric future in the Indian market.
