Hyundai has commenced production of the Hyundai EXTER from HMIL’s plant in Sriperumbudur near Chennai and has rolled out the first Exter. The interior feature list includes an 8.0-inch HD touchscreen with multi-language UI (User Interface), a 4.2-inch colour TFT Multi-Information Display (MID), over 60 connected features with Hyundai Bluelink, over 90 embedded voice commands, Over-the-air (OTA) infotainment and map updates, H2C (Home to Car) voice commands through Alexa in Hindi and English, seven ambient sounds of nature and sporty semi-leatherette upholstery with ‘EXTER’ branding.
The Hyundai Exter will come with six airbags as standard, and the company has started accepting bookings for its upcoming SUV for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Other safety features include electronic stability control), vehicle stability management), hill assist control), 3-point seat belt and seatbelt reminder (all seats), ABS with EBD, burglar alarm, dashcam with a dual camera, TPMS, ISOFIX, headlamp escort function, rear parking camera and more.
The Hyundai Exter will be offered in seven trims: EX, EX (O), S, S (O), SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. The Hyundai Exter will also be offered in a CNG guise for the S and the SX trim. The Hyundai EXTER has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm and is 1,631 mm tall.
The Hyundai Exter is likely to be offered with a 1.2-litre, four-pot, naturally aspirated petrol engine churning 83 bhp and 114 Nm of torque, and the CNG engine could be pushing a good 69 bhp and 95 Nm torque. The Exter could be offered with manual or automatic gearbox options, the 1.2-litre petrol engine could come mated to a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT transmission. The CNG guise is likely to get a five-speed manual only.
The Hyundai Exter will be offered in six single-tone colour options: Cosmic Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Ranger Khaki, and Titan Grey. Three dual-tone paint job options are available: Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black, Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black, and Atlas Black with Abyss Black.
The Hyundai Exter will lock horns with the likes of the Nissan Magnite, Citroen C3 and Renault Kiger, and Tata Punch.
