The Renault Duster 7-Seater (Boreal) gets a new Techno Mid variation with balanced specs and cutting-edge technologies.
The model, which is anticipated to reach India in 2026, is aimed at consumers who desire high-end technology and safety without having to purchase the top-end trim.
Renault has unveiled a new Techno Mid version of its seven-seat Duster SUV, which is referred to as the Boreal throughout. This version, which lies between entry and top trims, delivers an appealing combination of comfort, safety features, and technology at a price that is lower than the most costly models without sacrificing important features.
Customers who want more than just basic features but don't want to pay for all the bells and whistles of the top-end model are the target market for this update. The Techno Mid combines functionality and contemporary conveniences to compete in the family-SUV market.
Distinctive Design and Features
The Techno Mid version's exterior features a body-coloured grille, the revised Renault emblem, and unique Y-shaped lighting components, giving it a modern and upscale appearance. Its 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in black, and its sleek, linked tail lamps give it a contemporary appearance.
A 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting in up to 48 colours, and soft-touch materials all contribute to the cabin's high-tech feel. Connectivity and usability are improved via the Google-integrated OpenR Link multimedia system.
Performance and Safety
Safety has not been disregarded. Six airbags, all-four disc brakes, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assistance, and blind-spot monitoring are all features of the Techno Mid model.
It is powered by a 1.3-liter TCe turbocharged gasoline engine that generates 163 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automated transmission. With a top speed of about 180 km/h, this configuration enables it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.5 seconds.
Future Plans for India
Renault intends to introduce the seven-seat Boreal Techno to India, perhaps in the second half of 2026, after the introduction of the new Duster SUV earlier that year. The Boreal Techno is already causing a stir overseas. It will face competition from well-known seven-seater SUVs in India, such as the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and Tata Safari.
