Delays in delivery due to India's increasing demand for the MG Cyberster
The Cyberster's salient features and robust market appeal
MG Motor India has disclosed that new orders for its highly anticipated electric roadster, the MG Cyberster, now have to wait four to five months through its exclusive MG Select channel.
Since the car's July 2025 launch, the business has sold more than 350 units. Even at a higher price range, buyers are clearly enjoying performance EVs, as evidenced by the lengthier wait times. Sportscar aficionados have been especially captivated by the Cyberster's eye-catching design and emotive appeal, according to MG.
Why the Cyberster is so Appealing
The Cyberster's potent dual-motor all-wheel drive technology is the main attraction. The EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds thanks to its 77 kWh battery pack and combined output of 510 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque.
According to MG, the Cyberster can go 580 kilometers on a single charge (MIDC-claimed), which enhances its performance credentials with usefulness.
It is positioned as a premium EV rather than a volume vehicle and is sold through MG's exclusive network of upscale showrooms.
Reasons for Waiting and Their Significance
Customers' strong desire for both performance and sustainability is a major factor contributing to the lengthy wait times. The CEO of MG Select claims that consumers are attracted to convertible EVs with striking style in addition to their technical features.
The waiting time, however, also points to supply limitations. The Cyberster's production capacity is probably restricted because it is a high-performance, specialized model, particularly in the initial months following its release. Deliveries could be delayed until December due to late-2025 reservations, according to reports from earlier this year.
In order to deliver cars without disappointing customers, MG will need to carefully manage production and channel allocation as demand greatly outpaces supply.
