Audi previously announced the launch of a new EV sub-brand, "AUDI", which was done in a joint venture with SAIC Motor exclusively for the Chinese market towards the end of last year, as a strategic move to enhance its market presence and fortify its supply chain.
Audi, under this joint venture, would roll out three EV models by 2027, out of which the first is going to be a fully electric sportback derived from the E concept, in addition to the other two EVs, likely to be an electric sedan and another electric SUV. The Audi E5 Sportback made its public debut in Shanghai as the first model under this JV.

The greatest powertrain option of this electric four-door hatchback offers a range from 300 bhp to an impressive 787 bhp. It is planning four power levels: 300 bhp, 408 bhp, 578 bhp and 787 bhp.
The specifics around battery packs and electric motors are kept totally under wraps. However, it has revealed that "there will be a battery capacity of up to 100 kWh". Further, they will have the option of either a RWD (rear wheel drive) or Quattro AWD (all-wheel drive) configuration.
The top-end variant of the new Audi E5 Sportback will accelerate 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds.
The maximum 770 km on the CLTC range is claimed by the company for the E5 Sportback. It will support boosting high-speed charging at 800V, with 370 km to be added in only 10 minutes.
Among these advanced features is a customizable 27-inch 4K value display, all powered by a Qualcomn Snapdragon automotive chipset, and OTA (over-the-air) upgrades and much more.
Audi 360 with some assistance drives is an advanced four-cylinder electric sport hatchback that contains three long-range radars, a roof-mounted LiDAR, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and numerous cameras.
According to the carmaker, the Audi E5 Sportback has been completely designed under the Advanced Digitalized Platform, the first of its kind for the marque.
