The fourth-generation Maruti Swift has been one of the most anticipated launches of 2024. This car has been the talk of the automotive world for quite a long time now. The car is expected to go up for sale in India on May 9, 2024. The Bookings for the all-new, fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift have finally opened, with a booking amount of Rs 11,000.
Style and Features
The new Swift has an evolutionary design, with features including redesigned LED headlamps, wheels, taillights, and door handles that are now located behind the doors rather than on the C-pillar. Inside, there's a larger full-color MID, a new climate control interface, and a new infotainment system floating display. It also includes Features like rear AC vents, USB-C charging connections, and an Arkamys sound system that are being borrowed from the Maruti Fronx.
Powertrain Options
The new Swift is equipped with a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, mild hybrid petrol engine that is available worldwide. It is most likely going to continue using the current K12C 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine in India. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, and it generates 88 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. The CNG version will only provide 78 horsepower and 98 Nm when combined with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Variant Lineup
Maruti is expected to continue with its familiar variant lineup of LXi, VXi, and ZXi, with a 'Plus' option offering additional features on the top-end trims.
Pricing and Competition
The new Maruti Swift is expected to be priced between Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. It will compete with the likes of the Renault Triber, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Celerio, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Exter. However, its primary rival will be the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, a long-standing competitor in the hatchback segment.
