April Bonanza A Parade Of New Car Launches

April Bonanza: A Parade of New Car Launches!

April has been always one of those months that marks the beginning of new launches and closed deals as the financial year sets forth. It leads to some of the most eagerly awaited unveilings and launches from numerous automakers in the automotive sector. The following is a list of vehicles that were introduced in India in April 2024:

Toyota Taisor

Price range: Rs 7.74 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, which is primarily based on the Maruti Fronx but has some exterior design changes, was unveiled by Toyota and Maruti in April 2024. The 1.2-liter normally aspirated petrol engine that produces 90 PS/113 Nm and the 1-liter turbo-petrol engine that produces 100 PS/148 Nm are the same powertrains that power the Taisor as they do the Fronx. The N/A petrol engine offers an optional 5-speed AMT, while the turbocharged engine offers a 6-speed automated gearbox. The standard transmission is a 5-speed manual.

2024 Jeep Wrangler

Price range: 67.65 lakh to Rs 71.65 lakh

India has seen the release of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler makeover. The Unlimited model is priced at Rs 67.65 lakh, while the Rubicon variant is priced at Rs 71.65 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). The updated Wrangler features a sleek blacked-out grille, new 18-inch alloy wheels on the Unlimited and 17-inch alloys on the Rubicon, as well as a Gorilla Glass windshield. The interior has also been revised, with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a digital instrument cluster. The same 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, which produces 268 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, is still under the hood of the Wrangler. It is mated to an 8-speed automated transmission.

2024 Aston Martin Vantage

Price: Rs 3.99 crore

The primary highlight of the major update for the 2024 Aston Martin Vantage is the noticeable boost in performance. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine in the car has undergone significant modification; it can now generate 656 horsepower (665 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. Compared to the previous model, this indicates a 30% increase in power and a 15% increase in torque. The 2024 Vantage boasts a long list of chassis and suspension changes to enhance handling and dynamics in addition to performance enhancements. These consist of new adaptive dampers, an updated rear suspension, and a stiffer front cross-member. For improved driver involvement, adjustments have also been made to the electronic power steering and traction control systems.

Lexus NX 350h Overtrail

Price: Rs 71.17 lakh

The NX 350h Overtrail is a special edition of the Lexus NX 350h that sits in between the mid-range Luxury and entry-level Exquisite trims. In keeping with the outdoor theme, this special edition offers eye-catching visual elements like blacked-out design components and a distinctive Moon Desert exterior shade. A unique suspension system is fitted to the NX 350h Overtrail to improve its off-road performance.

The NX 350h Overtrail is driven by a powerful 2.5-liter hybrid drivetrain that consists of two electric motors and a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing 243 PS in total. A CVT (automated transmission) effectively distributes this power to all four wheels, guaranteeing optimum performance and traction under a variety of driving circumstances.

Toyota Innova Hycross GX(O)

Price range: 20.99 lakh to Rs 21.13 lakh

A new GX (O) model for the Toyota Innova Hycross that runs solely on petrol is available for Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This variation, which sits above the GX trim, comes with improved features that were only available on hybrid models. The petrol-only variant comes with a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine that produces 174 PS and 205 Nm of torque. It is mated to an automated CVT transmission and is available in both 7- and 8-seater versions.

On the other hand, the Innova Hycross hybrid models make use of a powerful 186 PS strong-hybrid drivetrain that consists of a 2-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. The e-CVT automatic gearbox used in these hybrid vehicles combines efficiency and performance for drivers who care about the environment.

MG Hector/Hector Plus Blackstorm Edition

Price range: Rs 21.25 lakh to Rs 22.76 lakh

In April 2024, the MG Hector was given a unique blacked-out version called the Blackstorm edition. This edition has an all-black interior and an all-black exterior with red highlights, among other visual alterations over the original model. The 5-seater and 3-row Hector models are both offered in the Blackstorm edition. It can be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol-CVT engine that generates 143 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, or by a 2-liter diesel-MT engine that can also produce 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque and is available in the Hector Plus.
