VinFast VF6, VF7 India Launch Soon with Focus on 5-Star Bharat NCAP Rating

The Brand’s new Vietnamese EV name, VinFast, will launch in the Indian market later in 2025 with a pair of EV SUVs, VF6 and VF7, designed with Indian conditions in mind. With new safety technology, higher ground clearance and several specific local market features, the company is after a good first impression and a 5-star NCAP crash safety rating.

VinFast VF6 and VF7 Target Bharat NCAP 5-Star Safety Rating

"Vietnamese electric car maker VinFast is ready to enter the Indian market later this year. VinFast is arriving with the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. This will be VinFast's first RHD (Right Hand Drive) produced and sold on the Indian market, which is a key driver for India to be the starting point for VinFast's market expansion.

The automaker is also looking for the stars with the goal of obtaining an impressive 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both. This will be a very bold move in the face of India's fiercely competitive EV market and surely signals the group's intent to succeed in India.

Tailored for Indian Roads and Consumers

VinFast isn't just taking its global product line from around the world and putting it in India. Both the VF6 and VF7 have been carefully adapted for the local conditions.
Overall, ground clearance is up to 190mm, both models are fitted with smaller wheels and higher-profile Apollo tyres - enhancements are aimed at dealing with the variety of road surfaces across the country.

Inside, the brand has addressed comfort and practicality. Features in the India-spec have been added including ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, 1-litre bottle holders in every door, the air conditioning system has been addressed to cater for high temperatures in the country, and a heat shield solution has been created for the panoramic glass roof to prevent overheating of the cabin.

Safety Takes Top Priority

One of VinFast's strategies for its entry into India is its focus on safety. The two models will have seven airbags as standard, as well as an offer for a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Also, in place of a traditional instrument cluster, the Indian models will also have a driver's Heads-Up Display (HUD) to help reduce distraction, as it would place important information about speed and range in front of the driver.

Production Timeline and Launch Plans

Production is scheduled to begin in July 2025, with expected commercial sale before year-end. With India being one of the first RHD markets for VinFast, it should be assumed that expectations will be high.

VinFast is undoubtedly making an effort to make a positive first impression on Indian soil by taking care of local needs through meaningful upgrades and placing importance on safety.
