Since the beginning of 2024, several car manufacturers have adjusted the prices of specific models, resulting in reduced prices for various electric cars. This change is attributed to a decline in battery cell costs in the global market. Let's take a look at the electric cars whose prices have been reduced in 2024.
MG Comet EV
MG Motor has reduced prices across its lineup in India, including the MG Comet EV. The prices for this micro electric hatch now start at Rs 6.99 lakh and go up to Rs 8.58 lakh (both ex-showroom), reflecting a reduction of Rs 99,000. The available variants – Pace, Play, and Push – have seen a price drop of Rs 1.40 lakh for the latter two trims, now priced at Rs 7.88 lakh and Rs 8.58 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively.
MG ZS EV
MG has also lowered the prices of its other all-electric model, the ZS EV. The compact electric SUV is now Rs 3.9 lakh cheaper, starting at Rs 18.98 lakh (ex-showroom) for the new entry-level Executive variant. The top-spec variant is now available at Rs 25.09 lakh. Powered by a 50kWh battery with 174bhp and 280Nm, the ZS EV offers a range of 461 km on a single charge.
Tata Tiago EV
Tata Motors has followed suit by reducing the prices of its EVs. The Tiago EV is now Rs 70,000 more affordable, with prices starting at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The XT MR variant costs Rs 35,000 less, while the XT LR is now Rs 30,000 cheaper. There are no changes in specs or features.

Tata Nexon EV
The highest-selling electric car in India, the Tata Nexon EV, has witnessed a price reduction of up to Rs 1.2 lakh. The base-spec Long Range (LR) variant is now priced at Rs 16.99 lakh. After the latest price revision, the Nexon EV range starts at Rs 14.49 lakh for the base Medium Range (MR) version, a reduction of Rs 25,000. The top-spec Empowered +LR variant is now Rs 70,000 cheaper, offered at Rs 19.29 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
