Tata Curvv Earns Five Star Bncap Rating Safety Milestone

Tata Curvv Achieves Five-Star BNCAP Rating: A New Milestone in Safety

Tata Motors continues its streak of high safety ratings with the Tata Curvv SUV scoring an impressive five-star rating in the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) crash tests. Launched in India on 7 August 2024, the Curvv is the sixth Tata vehicle to receive this coveted rating, underscoring the brand's commitment to safety. The coupe-styled SUV, available in petrol, diesel, and EV variants, excelled in both adult and child occupant protection categories, making it a compelling choice for safety-conscious buyers.

Outstanding BNCAP Crash Test Performance

In the BNCAP crash tests, the Tata Curvv achieved remarkable results, with a total score of 29.50/32 for adult occupant protection and 43.66/49 for child occupant protection. For the adult protection tests, the Curvv performed well in both the frontal and side impact scenarios. It scored 14.65/16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 14.85/16 in the side movable deformable barrier test.

For the driver, the vehicle scored a "Good" rating for the head, neck, and lower body, with only a slight reduction to "Adequate" for the right calf and "Marginal" for the left calf. The front passenger's protection fared equally well, with the vehicle receiving "Good" ratings for head, neck, and lower body protection, while both calves received "Adequate" ratings.

In terms of child occupant protection, the Tata Curvv scored a perfect 12/12 for the Child Restraint System (CRS) score and 9/13 for the vehicle assessment, reinforcing its safety credentials for families.

Comprehensive Safety Features

As part of Tata’s ongoing focus on safety, all versions of the Curvv come with a robust safety package. The SUV is equipped with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a seatbelt reminder, and pedestrian protection as standard. These features ensure that both passengers and pedestrians are well-protected in various driving scenarios.

A Rivalling Contender in the SUV Segment

Launched to compete with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder, the Tata Curvv stands out with its bold design and multiple powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, and electric versions. Its impressive crash test results only add to its appeal as a safe and stylish choice for urban and family buyers.

With its striking design, versatile engine choices, and industry-leading safety performance, the Tata Curvv not only positions itself as a strong competitor in the compact SUV segment but also sets new benchmarks in automotive safety for the Indian market.
