Tata Announces Hike In Tiago EV Prices By Up To Rs 20,000

Tata Motors announces a price hike for the Tiago EV, with an increase of up to Rs 20,000. The decision comes in response to various factors affecting production costs. Despite the increment, the Tiago EV remains a compelling choice in the electric vehicle market, combining affordability with Tata's commitment to sustainable mobility. Prospective buyers are encouraged to consider this adjustment in their purchasing decisions.

The Tiago launched in September 2022 with an introductory price of Rs. 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom). However, these prices were reserved for the first 20,000 customers, but now the brand has collected more than 20,000 bookings, and the company has hiked the price.

Commenting on this news, Mr. Vivek Srivastava, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Services Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, "The Tiago.ev is a special product as it is making electric mobility accessible and mainstream. It has received a phenomenal response from customers making it the 'Fastest Booked EV' in India with 10,000 units being booked on the first day and 20,000 bookings achieved within a month."

"It is now time for us to move to the next leg of this journey. To continue extending the fervour of this exciting product to more customers without any compromise, we are happy to announce the starting price of the Tiago.ev range at INR 8.69 Lakh, a nominal INR 20,000 hike from the proposed introductory price – committing to our promise of democratising the EV market and keeping the product accessible to all by retaining the starting price below 10 lakhs," Srivatsa further added.

Tata Tiago is the first in this segment to offer the best-in-class connected features just like the standard across all the trims, which are available in many premium cars. It comes with two battery pack options and four different charging solutions.
