No Free Fastag For Local People Gabhana Villagers Protest

No Free Fastag for Local People, Gabhana Villagers Protest

Aligarh-Ghaziabad expressway, Gabhana Toll Plaza Management has stopped the free fast tag for local people for the last week. Angry villagers created a ruckus on Friday. Police pacified the villagers by convincing them. This announcement has caused significant inconvenience for localities within a seven-kilometer radius of the toll plaza. Previously, these villagers had been receiving free Fastags, while those living within a twenty-kilometer radius had been given the option to purchase monthly passes at a lesser rate. The sudden decision in this service led to daily arguments between the toll workers and the affected residents.

Villagers' Frustration Boils Over

On Friday, the situation reached a boiling point. Frustrated by the lack of resolution, a group of angry villagers gathered at the toll plaza to voice their discontent. They raised slogans and caused a commotion, drawing attention to their plight. The demonstration was a clear indication of the villagers' frustration and their demand for immediate action.

Police Intervene to Calm the Situation

Inspector-in-charge Gajendra Singh, along with Chairman Kunwar Abhimanyuraj Singh, arrived at the scene to address the situation. They engaged in discussions with the villagers and the toll manager, Dinesh Kumar. After listening to the villagers' concerns, they assured them that a meeting with senior officials of the toll management would be arranged on Monday to discuss the issue further.

In Conclusion, The recent decision by the Gabhana toll management to halt free Fastags for residents has sparked significant unrest among the villagers. Their demonstration on Friday highlights the inconvenience and frustration they are experiencing. The intervention by local authorities has temporarily calmed the situation, with a promise of further discussions to resolve the matter. It remains to be seen how the toll management will address the villagers' concerns in the upcoming meeting.
