What is Toll plaza and toll tax?

Additionally, toll plazas may house administrative offices, weighbridges for checking vehicle weight compliance, and even convenience facilities like restrooms, restaurants, and fuel stations, transforming them into mini-rest stops for weary travellers. The revenue collected at toll plazas goes towards various purposes, including maintaining the road infrastructure, funding future highway projects, enhancing safety measures, and even financing environmental initiatives. While the concept of paying a fee to use a road might not be universally popular, toll plazas play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning and continuous development of our national highway network.
