Hyundai India has deliberately altered its emphasis from selling tiny cars to exporting midrange automobiles to better serve customers in India and worldwide. The business intends to export the Verna midsize sedan from India to all parts of the world following the success of its two domestically produced SUVs, the Creta and Alcazar. Due to this action, India will now be the world's sole manufacturer of the Verna. Hyundai India has raised its plant capacity to 8.5 lakh units to achieve a 20 per cent increase in export volume.
Sources claim that Hyundai has assigned India the sole task of producing and exporting the Verna midsize sedan to every country globally. The sixth-generation Verna sedan was just released, and Hyundai India plans to build 1.2 lakh units, with approximately 66% of the entire volume going to foreign markets. The export volumes of Hyundai Motor India are anticipated to increase by over 20% due to this action. In June 2023, the entirely redesigned Verna exports will begin in the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.
The sixth-generation Verna will be produced in 1.2 lakh units by Hyundai Motor India in India, which has been handed exclusive manufacture and export rights for the midsize sedan. 66% of the entire volume of these, or 80,000 units, will be exported. In FY2024, exports of the Verna are anticipated to quadruple, assisting Hyundai Motor India in exceeding 20% growth in exports. The company has already exported more than 4.5 lakh midsize sedans to several countries worldwide despite having an 8.5 lakh unit manufacturing capacity. Beginning in June 2023, the new Verna will be exported to the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.
The latest sedan from Hyundai, the Verna, boasts cutting-edge connectivity with over 118 inbuilt commands. According to the manufacturer, the vehicle boasts over 65 active and safety measures, including 30 as standard equipment. The new Verna will compete against the Honda City, which sells about 2,500 units on average monthly in India. The business hopes the new model would aid in achieving its objective of tripling Verna volumes and seizing the lead in the midsize sedan market.
