- Maruti Suzuki's domestic passenger vehicle sales grew 23.78 percent year on year in June 2026.
- SUVs and small cars both contributed strongly to the automaker's overall sales tally for the month.
Maruti Suzuki has closed June 2026 on a high, with domestic passenger vehicle sales climbing 23.78 percent year on year to 1,47,187 units. Once exports, light commercial vehicles and supplies made to Toyota are factored in, the carmaker's total sales for the month stood at 2,00,390 units, a rise of 19.28 percent over June last year.
Interestingly, the month-on-month picture tells a slightly different story. Domestic PV sales dipped when compared with the record 1,90,337 units the company sold in May 2026. That said, June's numbers were still well ahead of the same period last year, suggesting that buyer interest across Maruti Suzuki's range has not cooled off, even after a blockbuster May.

SUVs Remain The Biggest Growth Driver
Once again, it was the utility vehicle segment that did the heavy lifting for Maruti Suzuki. UV sales rose to 61,726 units in June 2026, up from 47,947 units in the same month a year earlier. This lineup now spans the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, eVitara, Invicto, Jimny, XL6 and Victoris, giving the brand a presence across nearly every SUV price bracket in the country.
The smaller cars in Maruti Suzuki's stable also had a good month. Sales of the Alto and S-Presso nearly doubled compared to last year, while the compact and mid-size bracket, which includes the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Celerio, Ignis and Ciaz, posted solid growth as well. The Eeco van, too, recorded a year-on-year improvement in numbers.
Exports Hold Steady, Toyota Supplies Dip
Overseas shipments remained a bright spot for the company. Exports rose 13.02 percent to 42,768 units in June 2026, compared with 37,842 units in June 2025.
Supplies to Toyota, however, slipped 15.21 percent to 7,472 units from 8,812 units a year earlier. On the commercial side, Super Carry LCV sales improved 21.78 percent to 2,963 units.
Taken together, these numbers pushed Maruti Suzuki's total sales to 2,00,390 units for June 2026, up from 1,67,993 units in the corresponding month last year.
A Strong Opening To The New Financial Year
The June performance also rounds off a solid first quarter for Maruti Suzuki. Between April and June 2026, domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 33.45 percent to 5,25,228 units. Including exports, LCVs and OEM supplies, total sales for the quarter reached 6,82,724 units, marking a 29.34 percent year-on-year increase.
The company now has a busy few months ahead. An updated Brezza facelift is due for launch later in July 2026, expected to bring revised styling, added features and possibly a new turbo-petrol engine option. Maruti Suzuki has also begun testing a Baleno facelift, along with an all-new electric seven-seater MPV, both of which are expected to arrive sometime next year.
