The e Vitara for India is based on a skateboard platform (codename: 40PL) that was co-developed with Toyota. It will have 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs that employ BYD's LFP (Lithium Iron-phosphate) "blade" cells. Front-axle mounted motors producing 143 horsepower and 173 horsepower, respectively, power the 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs; the torque on each is 192.5 Nm. Although the exact range has not yet been disclosed, Maruti claims that the larger battery pack will have a MIDC-rated range of more than 500 kilometers.

Maruti E-Vitara’s Price and Probable Competitors
In March, Maruti will make the e Vitara's pricing public. The Tata Curvv EV (Rs 17.49 lakh-21.99 lakh), the Mahindra BE 6 (Rs 18.90 lakh-26.90 lakh), and the MG ZS EV (Rs 18.98 lakh-25.75 lakh) are its competitors. Fifty percent of the e Vitara's manufacturing will be exported to Europe and Japan from Suzuki's Gujarat plant.
