Mahindra Thar Roxx Price Hike: Rs 60,000 Across All Variants

Mahindra hikes prices of Thar Roxx by as much as ₹60,000 from December 2024 for both petrol and diesel units The most affected is the highest trim. This hike doesn't apply to all models; top-of-the-line trims take the full impact. This time around, with this new price hike structure, high trims on the Thar Roxx are likely to feel the impact of inflationary pressures and the substantial rise in input prices up to ₹60,000. Here are the prices for all of them.

Mahindra & Mahindra introduced Thar Roxx in August 2024. It gave a tough, rugged look to this vehicle with the off-road capability, and that was enough noise in the market. Now, within just a few months after launching this vehicle, the company has increased the price of SUVs.

Mahindra increased the price of Thar Roxx in December 2024 due to the increasing inflationary and input costs. The car's price of the vehicle will go up from 0.48% to 2.86%, which is applicable for petrol and diesel versions of the car and goes as high as Rs 60,000 in some trims.

Petrol Versions

The price hike mostly goes to the most premium variant in the range-the AX7 L AT, if one talks about the petrol variants. The same has been increased by Rs 50,000, and hence, its ex-showroom price now stands at Rs 20.49 lakh.

Thus, the hike would be around 2.50%. However, other petrol variants of the Thar Roxx remain untouched, and the base variant of the same still carries a base price of Rs 12.99 lakh.

The trend of price increment is similar, and some of the trims have a high increase in their price. There's no change to the base variant, which stays the same at the MX1 MT, now priced at Rs 13.99 lakh ex-showroom.

However, a few top-end variants like the MX5 MT 4x4 have seen an upward hike of Rs 30,000 and thus now retail for Rs 19.09 lakh (ex-showroom)—1.60%. The AX5 L AT 4x4 has witnessed a small increase of Rs 10,000 and now retails for Rs 21.09 lakh.

The most premium diesel variants have seen the highest price increase. The AX7 L MT variant has been hiked by Rs 50,000 and now stands at Rs 19.49 lakh on ex-showroom. The 4x4 variants have seen the maximum price hike with the AX7 L MT 4x4 priced at Rs 21.59 lakh after hiking Rs 60,000. The AX7 L AT 4x4 variant now costs Rs 23.09 lakh after Rs 60,000 price hike.

Price Increase Summary

Petrol variants

  • AX7 L AT: increased by Rs 50,000 (2.50%) to Rs 20.49 lakh

  • Others petrol variant: No increase, starting price is at Rs 12.99 lakh

Diesel variants

  • MX1 MT: No increase to Rs 13.99 lakh

  • MX5 MT 4x4: Increased by Rs 30,000 (1.60%) to Rs 19.09 lakh

  • AX5 L AT 4x4: Increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs 21.09 lakh

  • AX7 L MT: Price increased to Rs 19.49 lakh by Rs 50,000

  • AX7 L MT 4x4: Price hikes by Rs 60,000 or 2.86% to Rs 21.59 lakh

  • AX7 L AT: Price up by Rs 50,000 to Rs 20.99 lakh

  • AX7 L AT 4x4: Price up by Rs 60,000 to Rs 23.09 lakh

This has been reflected in the price increases, which automakers have suffered due to high costs and inflation. However, Mahindra Thar Roxx remains an attractive buy for anyone seeking a more rugged and capable SUV, particularly for off-road adventures. Though the price hike is substantial on certain variants, it has made the top-end trims even more premium, and the base variants are still relatively competitive.

Final Words

In conclusion, though the price of Thar Roxx has increased, it gives an idea of what the economic aspects of the product have on prices. There are always various trims that one could buy according to the requirements at hand, from commuting in a city to full-fledged off-road action.
