Mahindra Sales in February 2025: A Mixed Bag of Growth & Decline
Mahindra continues to hold a strong position in India's SUV-dominated market, reporting 50,420 units sold in February 2025. This marks a significant 18.91% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 42,401 units in February 2024. However, on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, sales saw a marginal 0.47% decline from 50,659 units in January 2025.
The sales momentum was driven by popular models such as Thar, XUV700, and the newly introduced BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs.
Let’s take a closer look at how Mahindra’s lineup performed in February.
SUV Performance: Scorpio Leads, Thar & XUV 3XO Surge
Mahindra’s Scorpio lineup (Scorpio and Scorpio N) remained the brand’s best-seller, with 13,618 units sold in February 2025. However, this reflected an 11.81% MoM decline from 15,442 units in January.
In contrast, the Thar and newly launched Thar ROXX saw an outstanding 22.38% MoM growth, with sales jumping from 7,557 units in January to 9,248 units in February. This also marks a massive 59.12% YoY growth compared to 5,812 units in February 2024.
The Bolero lineup continued its stronghold in rural markets, selling 8,690 units—a minor increase of 8 units from January but a 14.07% YoY decline from 10,113 units in February 2024.
The XUV 3XO, which replaced the XUV300, recorded 7,861 units, witnessing a 7.01% MoM drop but a remarkable 86.37% YoY increase from 4,218 units last year. Meanwhile, the XUV700 saw a 11.08% MoM dip, selling 7,468 units in February compared to 8,399 units in January.
EV Lineup: XEV 9e Sees Massive Growth, XUV400 Struggles
Mahindra’s electric vehicle segment witnessed an exciting shift. The XEV 9e registered an incredible 93.93% MoM growth, selling 2,205 units in February, up from 1,137 units in January. The BE 6 also grew, reaching 991 units from 700 in January.
However, the XUV400 EV saw a 47.21% YoY drop, with 322 units sold in February 2025 compared to 610 units last year, indicating growing competition in the EV space.
Mahindra’s Growth Strategy for 2025
While Mahindra’s YoY growth remains strong, the slight MoM dip suggests shifting consumer demand across models. With the Thar, Scorpio, and new EVs gaining traction, Mahindra is expected to focus on expanding production and enhancing its EV portfolio to stay competitive in 2025.
