Mahindra’s Electric SUVs Gain Traction with Strong February Sales
Mahindra’s foray into the electric SUV segment is off to a promising start, with the newly launched BE 6 and XEV 9e recording 3,196 units sold in February 2025. These Electric Origin SUVs, launched earlier this year, have been well received by Indian buyers, marking a strong entry for Mahindra in the growing EV market.
With order books opening just last month, Mahindra secured over 30,000 bookings for both SUVs on the first day alone—a testament to the rising demand for electric mobility in India.
Let’s take a closer look at what makes these models stand out.
Competitive Pricing & Variant Lineup
The BE 6 is priced at an attractive ₹18.9 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitive offering in the mid-size EV segment. Meanwhile, the XEV 9e comes with a starting price of ₹21.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
Both SUVs are available in three variants: Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three, allowing buyers to choose based on features and performance needs. This flexible lineup caters to a wide range of customers looking for performance, tech, and long-range capabilities.
Powertrain, Battery, & Range
Under the hood, both the BE 6 and XEV 9e offer two battery pack options—59kWh and 79kWh. This ensures that buyers can opt for either a standard or a long-range version, depending on their usage.
Speaking of range, the long-range variant delivers an impressive 682 km on a single charge, making it one of the most capable electric SUVs in India. The powertrain setup promises strong acceleration and efficiency, further enhancing Mahindra’s appeal in the EV space.
Market Competition & Future Outlook
With the growing EV adoption in India, the BE 6 and XEV 9e will go head-to-head with rivals such as the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, Tata Curvv EV, and Hyundai Creta EV. Given the promising early response, Mahindra is likely to ramp up production and deliveries to meet the overwhelming demand.
With competitive pricing, strong range figures, and growing consumer interest, Mahindra’s new electric SUVs have laid a solid foundation for the brand’s future in the Indian EV segment.
