The Mahindra XUV400 EV presents a challenge to the Tata Nexon EV the most popular SUV in the country. Both models in their trim levels support DC charging with larger battery capacities. However, when put to real-world use which one charges from 15% to 100% faster? We ran this test. The outcomes are displayed below.

Charging Speed Comparison:

Our research indicates that the Mahindra XUV400 EV and Tata Nexon EV require the same amount of time and comparable charging speeds to completely charge their batteries from 15%. This is significant because the XUV400 EV's battery is just 39.4 kWh. In contrast, the Nexon EV Long Range (LR) edition boasts a slightly larger battery pack at 40.5 kWh.

  • Tata Nexon EV LR: 40.5 kWh battery. Claimed range of 465 km.

  • Mahindra XUV400 EV: 456 km of stated range on a 39.4 kWh battery.

In contrast to the Tata Nexon EV, the Mahindra XUV400 EV delivers a higher range top-up with a 45-minute charge if you're pressed for time.

Battery Health Note: To prolong the life of your battery manufacturers advise against doing consecutive quick charging cycles.
